New Finds of Yuan Dynasty Blue-and-White Porcelain from the Luomaqiao Kiln Site, Jingdezhen: An Archaeological Approach

The authors describe their excavations at the Luomaqiao Kilns in Jingdezhen, with a focus on Yuan blue and white porcelain. There are many finds described and illustrated, which serve as excellent guides for the connoissuer, and absorbing reading for those interested in Yuan blue and white. Too often books describing finds at kilns at Jingdezhen have been 95% Ming and Qing, and only 5% Yuan, which is quite unsatisfying. This book remedies that. In addition, the authors deal with important issues, such as when Yuan blue and white was manufactured, and a discussion of the Percival David Vases. Their reasoning is sound and well backed by authroitative sources. Overall, if you are interested in Yuan blue and white porcelain, this book is a "must-have."
