Gatco 1537 20-Inch Towel Rack, Chrome

I wanted a towel rack, but was unwilling to spend a huge amount on one. Gave this a shot, and have been very pleased. It looks great - very solid construction. It looks and feels like it should cost a whole lot more than it does.I also like the fact that it screws directly into the wall instead of using a cover plate. While the cover plate method looks a bit more sleek, they have always been problematic for towel racks which have to hold up to the force of pulling a heavy towel. The plates tend to loosen from the wall and/or the cover plate never sits properly regardless of how much the set screws are tightened.This model avoids those issues by having exposed screws that, if installed properly, will hold up far, far better to the everyday knocks and bruises a towel rack gets. The hardware package that comes with the rack includes screws and two types of wall anchors.The item is also nicely packaged at the factory with ample padding so it stays scratch and dent free regardless of getting knocked about by the UPS folks.Highly recommend.

We purchased this to have more space in our linen closet. We also purchased the Gatco 1544 20 inch towel rack in chrome to go with it. They look like they were meant to be mounted on the wall together and give a hotel feeling to the bathroom. We placed these one above another. The bath towels go on this one. Plus there is a place to hang a wet towel. This rack holds 6 towels for us. The other one holds the hand towels and wash cloths. This has not tarnished in all the time we have had it. Serves its purpose. The only reason I gave it four stars is because I have to fold the towels differently to get them to fit side by side on this rack to hold all six. I wish I could have purchased something from this company that was longer than 20 inches. Not really the items fault, but still something that bothers me.

Perfect for what I wanted while remodeling a very small bathroom. Went together easy and seems plenty sturdy for holding towels. While I had no problems with the instructions, they were not very detailed. To those not handy around the house may have had a hard time figuring out which type of included anchor should be used based on their type of wall. At the very least, they should have included what size drill to use to drill the hole for the wall anchors.Now the finish on the other hand could have been a little better in my opinion (at least on the unit I received). I have several other "Bronze" finished fixtures in that bathroom and their finish quality is much better. Some areas on the towel rack were scratched right out of the carton (which was packaged very nicely).

It's size and weight are as described. It feels sturdy and comes with all necessary installation hardware and instructions. It took about 15 minutes to assemble and install.It looks great. It's very functional and adds a bit of class to the bathroom. The depth is sufficient for holding towels and can store two standard sized toilet paper rolls.The chrome finish is pretty good but on the one I received there were a few tiny round grey spots on it that can't be cleaned off.Although it is designed for the bathroom, the metal under the chrome is not stainless; the joints and other exposed areas are not sealed. This product would likely rust if put in a location where it could get wet.Overall, I do like this product and would recommend it.

This looks great in my newly remodeled bathroom(s). Keeps towels handy up and out of the way. but looks very tidy.****Update April 1 2014: All I had on the rack was a couple of regular size bath towels and a couple of hand towels. I noticed it was drooping a little and that it was quite wobbly. I had to have a "handyman" come in to try to fix it. He said the plate that the screws go into the holes are too close together and is not the right size bracket. So, this has just cost me considerable amount more $$ to fix the poor design of the brackets. Too bad as I really did like the looks of this rack.

Product seems to be of good quality and finish. It's quite light-weight so i was a bit concerned with its quality but i have been happy with it so far. The finish is awesome. I like the bronze color and even the screws are bronze colored, so very happy. There was a review i read which mentioned that the screws were not of the same color as the product. in my case they were so no complains. It was very easy to install on the wall with the hardware included. All-in-all its a great product, easy to install, and looks great as well and very functional. You will not regret purchasing this product.

Glad we bought for guest/kids bath....finish is good, quality looks good, works great and is holding up well with 2 sets of towels on top and hand towels hanging. Only thing I would have liked, is not seeing the screw holes on the sides--so it "cheapens" the look a little. We are looking for more decorative screw heads, not sure how else this could be done better and keeping it strong on the wall....

I didn’t like it much but my husband was satisfied with what he needed it for so the product overall was fine.

It's a little pricy, but you will love the quality.

Contemporary, just the right size.
