Not what they used to be
You dont get different elements for clutch and throttle side. You get some heatshrink to put on clutch side.Wires have no reinforcement at the weak point right where they leave the elements...old versions did.Have used symtec grip heaters since 2002...returned this set hoping to find the old version some place in stock still.

This is not the kit in the photo.
The kit in the photo show's an included bracket and bolt for the switch. The photo also shows two unique heating elements for the clutch and throttle sides. The one I received has no bracket and bolt and has the same element on each side.

Photo mis-represents the product - both sides heat unevenly - additional costs to complete install.
So... What you see in the photo for the Heat Demon 210019 is not what actually arrives. What arrives is two throttle side heat grips, a switch, some wire, a heat shrink for the left handle-bar and 4 wire connectors. What doesn’t get included is a more hotter clutch side heater pad (you use the less powerful throttle side heaters for both clutch side and throttle side). The vendor knows this yet still persist in using the photo that mis-represents the product. I wrote to them, they tried with the Symtec (US maker of the Heat Demons) to get me the heat pad shown in the ad, but in the end suggested I take up the discrepancies of the picture and what actually shows up in the package with Symtec. Symtec is non-responsive to any e-mail and they don’t take phone calls. OEMCycles has known for at least a month that their photo misrepresents what actually arrives, yet a month after I raised this with them, their ad remains unchanged.So... Why does it matter that they don’t give you a clutch side heater pad? Because the clutch side grip is twice as thick as the throttle side grip (throttle side needs to be thinner to go over the throttle tube). To enable the clutch side to heat up the same (as quickly and with the same sensation of heat) as the throttle side, the clutch side should be a more powerful heat pad (as shown in the photo). So, with my two throttle side heat pads, my right hand is toasty warm, by left hand (clutch) is warm(ish).I was fine without all the additional stuff shown in my photo with a red X not showing up, but the two throttle heat pads and not a clutch-side heat pad makes a huge difference in the performance of these grips. If comparing this kit against other brand name grip heaters that come with grips, be aware that with this kit you have to buy an inline fuse and you’ll likely need new grips as you will probably destroy your old grips getting them off. You’ll also need to buy grip glue (or equivalent) so the grips don’t spin on the bars or the throttle tube. Add all this up and the Oxford’s looking comparable in price and, unlike Symtec’s Heat Demons, will heat up evenly and your clutch hand will be as warm as your throttle hand.Had I known why not having all the correct parts matters and that you don’t get what’s shown in the advertisement, I would not have bought these grips. But, having drilled into the bike and invested a few hours and $35 in proper fuse, new grips, and grip glue, I’m committed now. Let my experience be your guide.
