Some good information, but needs re-editing.
Some good information, especially for those who need a bit of help refining or looking at the technical side of things, or are just new to EDC/ADC.Though for a published book/ebook it does need a lot of editing. Often the way things are worded is a bit off. A couple times just in the first half of the book I found half finished paragraphs and missing pictures (statements that referred to an image but the image had been left out). Other smaller mistakes like accidental capital letters at the start of words (such as "THe"). I can't say anything about the paper copy, but the ebook also has a lot of placed where the title of the next section is on one page but the first paragraph is on the next page. All of this makes for some slightly confusing reading at times, and was all found in just the first 40% of the book!

It's obvious the author put a lot of thought and personal effort into this book. Although I'm not nearly as "into it" as he, this book gave me some useful ideas. So I just now bought his book 2 and book 3 in this series to help me continue designing my own survival packs.

Not worth the paper it's printed on or the digital space it occupies.
What a waste of money. Don't get this book either as a digital download or paperback. Knowing what I know now, I would not pay 25 cents for this. There is nothing in this that the average preper would not already know or even someone with basic common sense would be able to figure out all on his own.

Great ADC book. It changed my life and my self organising.
Firstly, let me be open about the fact that I have know the author for over 30 years. However, as a practicing scientist I frequently review people's work purely based on the content and in an objective manner because, to do otherwise would do them a disservice and not be helpful to the potential reader. When I first started reading this book I have to confess that I had not even heard of the term 'Every Day Carry' and had never really given it much thought. The book is brilliantly written and helps the reader decide which items that they are likely to need as part of their 'all day carry'. The material is presented in a logical and thorough manner, dividing different functions into the various chapters. To say that this book changed my life would seriously be an understatement. My wife jokes that I have become a 'walking Swiss Army Knife' and she is not far wrong. Since reading the book I have formulated my own ADC and have been amazed how frequently I have used the various items. After reading the book I bought a number of the items that are covered. My wife and I recently went to a show in Bournemouth. It was a popular event ( the great Billy Connolly) and the car park was heaving. I now routinely carry five £1 coins in the True Utility 'coin stash' and was able to pay for the car park instantly. After the concert we decided to buy some merchandise. In the past I would have paid by card but there was a £3 supplement, so I raided my cash stash and flash stash ( a torch with a hidden compartment for a bank note) and was able to make the payment ( thus avoiding the extra cost). I am currently awaiting surgery and have to frequently take pain killers. I have removed the spring from one of the aforementioned coin stashes and am able to carry an emergency supply of my medication. It has proved useful on more than one occasion and saved me significant pain. I recently noticed that one of the screws on our toilet seat was coming loose. I was instantly able to use a mini multitool to tighten the screw and avoid the seat falling apart completely. There have been numerous other occasions where, having read this book, I find that I have the right item and exactly the time when I need it. This book is brilliantly written and allows the reader to formulate their own requirements of ADC and not end up buying item that might never be used or match their life style. I guess that I could say that it take a 'systems requirement' approach. I never expected the book to change my life and my thinking, but it truly did. We have even extended it to other aspects of life, like what item we carry in our car ( which is more EDC than ADC) but useful nonetheless. The book brings with it newfound personal organisation skill, which never came naturally to me, which in turn brings newfound confidence. We even found ourselves buying Christmas presents for family based of things that we thought that they might find useful to carry with them.

Decent, not great, but decent.
You’re likely to glean some ideas from this book if you’re new to prepping, survivalism or outdoors living. However, if you’ve been at it awhile you’re already well aware of the tools, gadgetry and implements mentioned in this book and you may well question the practicality of some of the suggestions and recommendations. EDC has its limitations and practical applications dependent upon your unique situation. Loggers, construction workers, doctors, businessmen and women all have their own unique needs. This books is a little too all-encompassing and perhaps attempts, a little too much, to be a blanket solution for your everyday carry needs.

An excellent book that could change your approach to everyday life...

Well researched, practical guide to carrying essential gear all day, every day.
I should declare up-front that the author is a friend of mine, although I don’t feel that this affects the objectivity and honesty of my review. Chas has a great deal of knowledge and practical experience of all manner of neat tools, gadgets and otherwise useful items which make our lives easier and safer. More than this, he knows how to carry them in an organised fashion, so that they’re to hand when you need them. This book covers items and carrying techniques for all day use: hence the term “All Day Carry” (ADC). The material has been thoroughly researched and is presented with meticulous detail, helpful photographs and good humour. Altogether, it’s a stimulating, informative and thought-provoking read, which will continue to earn its keep as a reference guide.

Easy read - comprehensive introduction to the component parts of all day carry - the stuff you'd want on your person at all times. Best bit for me was seeing what the author carries, and it introduced me to a tiny wallet which I've bought and love :-)

This is a great practical guide
This is a great practical guide.. advice and logical thoughts on what to carry, and when and how to carry it, from a guy that's thought long and hard about the practicalities. Really interesting and useful read.
