CHEFVANTAGE Salt and Pepper Shakers Set with Adjustable Pour Holes - Black and White

Very nice looking and well constructed. Theses shakers aren't heavy, but definitely feel solid and give a sense of quality. It is most important to note that I purchased these shakers for Kosher salt, which is much larger than normal table salt and won't fit through the holes of a standard shaker. Kosher salt also does not work in a grinder, so but I wound up finding these. I looked at several place and if I found something, it was junk and I couldn't even tell if it would work. The top part with the holes has 4 sections that can be rotated around, so you can choose which quarter section meets your needs.Sections are;1)Small holes that might be slightly larger than standard2) Large holes that are big enough for kosher salt (YES!) and plenty of other large spices3) Completely open allowing for easy pouring when measuring large quantities4)Completely closed to help keep moisture out.A simple twist rotates the plastic wheel at the top with the sections. There is a quarter "pie" shaped cutout in the stainless steel top that shows your chosen section while all others remain blocked.I have not experienced any spillage or leakage. The shaker is easy to hold and the grip is comfortable and secure.Great shakers!

These are great shakers. The container is clear glass. The top is metal and screws onto threads less than halfway on the container. This is nice because you can see the contents and also see when you need to refill. It holds a lot of whatever you fill it with. The best part is the top of the lid that turns to select a large opening to pour, three large holes for pepper or courser spices, six smaller holes for salt or finer spices and a turn to seal and keep out moisture. When selecting the areas with holes you can turn the lid to cover some of the holes and adjust the amount that is dispensed even more. This is a great design and I am really happy with it I am thinking about getting more to hold other spices because it is designed to work with anything you put in it. Looks clean and classy, feels good in your hand, high quality and multi-functional. The product arrived well packaged and timely.

These are great looking shakers and provide the optional opening sizes to handle salt, pepper and other seasonings. I looked FOREVER for 'real' salt and pepper shakers where the holes for salt were smaller than the holes for pepper. Could not find one that was glass and not a restaurant shaker with plastic lids until I found these. Three hole sizes will handle any type of salt, coarse to fine, even flaked. I was afraid the small holes would still be too big for the salt but they are not. I have watched three people shake salt into their hand, look at the amount and then just start shaking salt directly on the food.You also have the option to keep them closed if you are not a frequent user of the condiments and want to keep the food surfaces (openings) clean. There is thoughtful design here - easy to fill, easy to clean and with a clear bottom for a view of what is in the shaker. Just be sure to let the top dry really well - I rushed it and had to rinse and dry gain because there was a tiny bit of water trapped in it. But I wanted to get them out on display!The only thing I would recommend is to maybe have some slightly larger sizes that can be sold individually for other condiments.

These shakers are solidly designed and feel good in the hands. They are flexible because they allow you to select the size of the holes for dispensing the spice of your choice. However, these are first and foremost salt and pepper shakers as indicated by the name of the product, "CHEFVANTAGE Salt and Pepper Shakers Set." I bought these shakers for their primary purpose and this is why they are a disappointment to me. The smallest holes are still too large and too numerous for salt. I am using plain Morton table salt and the amount of salt that is dispensed on each shake is overwhelming. Nothing ruins food more quickly than heavy-handed salting. These shakers probably work well for other kinds of spices that you do not have to use as sparingly as salt, but since they're meant to be salt and pepper shakers, my conclusion is that they are trying to be too many things to too many people. The seller/owner wrote me and advised me to put in some rice with the salt to slow down the flow. I could do that, but they could also design their product to do what they market it to do or not market it like that all. Misleading.Overall, these shakers do not serve the purpose I bought them for and I am disappointed. However, like I said previously, they are well-made and pretty to look at and at some point I will find another use for them, so I'm giving 3 stars.Update: I am giving an extra star to my original 3-star review because the owner reached out to me when she saw my original review. They genuinely care about the satisfaction of their customers and the feedback we give them and to me, that's as important as the product itself.

Recently put together a red-themed dining room, and shakers had to be red but also look appropriately modern and intuitive. Some experience problems with the shroud unscrewing while adjusting the openings, but if you make sure to securely tighten the shroud first (holding on the SIDES, not the TOP), then adjusting the openings becomes no problem. You can also adjust them clockwise to ensure you never have to worry about loosening the two pieces.I digress, though. These look great and the size is substantial enough to feel comfortable in the hand without being overly bulky. Adjustable holes are just as suitable for spices as they are for salt and pepper, which is an interesting but welcome feature. Might buy more of them just for that reason. Although it's too early to comment on their durability, they appear quite sturdy and I highly recommend them based on use thus far, they've worked surprisingly well.
