Got for a 300 watt panel not aware that it is only good for a 100 watt or less panel, had it for a while before using and did not return it. Ma bee will get a 100 watt panel later to see if it works.

This may be a slick algorithm, but it can't handle a warm environment at all. Mine melted inside because the board is coated in a thick rubberized goop and there is no ventilation into the box. If I had been warned of the temperature limits, I would not have purchased. My trailer may reach 120F midday when I am not there and that seems too much for this. Add ventilation, a heat sink, or a warning about max ambients this can tolerate!

I was really hoping this little unit would do as was advertised. I build and sell solar generators and this would have worked very well for that application. Unfortunately, I cannot report a satisfactory result. While it does charge the battery, my cheap $12 pwm controller does a much better job at charging. Not sure how these other posters had such great results, but all I can attest to is my own experience. This is the first amazon review I have ever posted. I have done so to let people know, this unit doesn't do what it claims to do. If you want a more effective product, buck up for a mppt controller.

A good friend of mine h had told me about this solar charger controller. I did not believe what he was saying about this charge controller that it can charge a battery three times faster compared to leading charge controller that are available in the market. I had previously used a MPPT charge controller from MorningStar company with a 100 watt solar panel. I asked him to compare his RapidSolar Charger and the MorningStar MPPT Charge controller for the time each of them took to a charge a 12 volt battery. I was very surprised and somewhat embarrassed when we compared the results. It took only three hours to charge the battery with RapidSolar Charger while it had taken 9-10 hours to charge the same battery with the MorningStar MPPT charge controller - From that point on I called the RapidSolar Charger a Super Controller. I would highly recommend to anybody who wants to charge a 12 volt battery with a 100 watt panel.

I have seen this thing in action and this is no doubt the best charge controller on the market. It charges the battery attached to a 100 watt solar panel about 3 times faster and automatically turns on when the battery is drained and turn off when it is completely charged. It is like turning a 100 watt solar panel into 300 watts for a fraction of the cost.

The RapidSolar Charger is outstanding! I found that it can charge three 12-volt batteries from a 100-watt solar panel while other charge controllers only charge one 12-volt battery over the same time period. The auto on/off feature is also terrific. This product performs exactly as advertised!
