Very bummed out - Apparently all the high reviews got a different towel than I got. Look at all the RECENT reviews if you want the real low-down on this towel!I have been using big towels for dozens of years now, mostly from Macys or a good rare deal at Target. Figured I'd give Amazon a try since I buy near everything else here nowadays. I try to do my homework, read the reviews, look at the pictures and make then a choice between several similar products. I HAVE experienced this kind of cotton product before and it's the worst. Had washed it once first to make sure it was clean and fluffy and when I tried it out of the shower for the first time my expectations hit the floor - it's the kind of cotton texture that feels like it's been soaked in mink oil, as you brush it over your wet body it feels like it's moving the water around but not absorbing at all. I have experienced this kind of non-absorbent cotton before and just thinking about it gives me the heebee-jeebee! Instead of returning it (as we had already washed it once) we just put it in the closet and will use it for wrapping our furniture if we every move again.

I have had (and still have) multiple terry towels from this company. My first purchase was over 10 years ago and it is still in tact and in amazing shape. It is plush & soft, and this most recent purchase is no exception. Laundered many times, they have not lost their beauty or absorbency. It is a true 100% Turkish cotton towel (none of that blend stuff. My husband and boys love the large bath sheet size because they can use it as a lounge chair cover by the pool as well as for drying off. I am always proud to give this towel as a gift to my good friends as well. If you are looking for the real deal, this is it!

I bought just one of these 100% NON-GMO Turkish Cotton Bath Sheet, Extra Long 40"x80", ThirstyTM Towels, 670 GSM Weight. (40X80, BLACK). It has been a poor decision. After receiving it, I washed it using the proper settings on the towel. After the first washing, my washing machine was full of towel material and more was on the floor. I took it outside and and shook it and a lot more material was shed. I continued to shake it until I could shake it no more. I rewashed it 10 times so far with still more shedding. I think the towel lost half its weight so far. After the last washing, I dried it in the dryer on the proper settings. The lint catcher was full of black lint. I shook it some more and more shed came flying off. So I said, let me try it. Took a shower and tried to dry off but the towel was not absorbent at all. Water seemed to be just pushed around on my body plus more towel shed on my body and floor. Tried to return it but the cost to mail it back and the fact the company wants to be reimbursed for their free shipping is cost prohibitive. I like the size of the towels can easily use only for after shower. The colors are beautiful, camera doesn’t do justice!

This towel is one of my favorite things. I bought it three years ago in December, and I use it daily. I wash it once a week, toss it in the dryer, and then it goes right back on the towel hook for my nightly shower. In three years this towel has never seen the inside of my linen closet. I actually miss it when I travel. It is luxuriously soft, a great size, and the color still looks great after three years of constant use. Considering the size and thickness you would think it would be slow to dry, but it isn't. Douglas Adams said that a towel is the most massively useful thing an interstellar hitchhiker can have. Should the earth be destroyed in order to put in an interstellar expressway, this is the towel that i want to have with me as I journey across the galaxy. I balked at the price a bit at first, but it was so worth it.

Nice towels. Surprisingly, these towels are heavy enough to make drying off a bit tiring! If I were to buy another set of towels, I would buy this same size, but a much lighter weight/weave towel. (I never, in my wildest dreams, thought I would say such a thing!)(Edit 7/10/2018)I had to remove more stars because of the gmo cotton. These towels just don't really absorb, so much as smear water evenly across your skin. In fact, if you get one side wet, the moisture never gets below the surface! Not to worry, though; when one side of the towel is too wet to use, the other side will be perfectly dry... sadly, even after using both sides of the towel, YOU WILL STILL BE WETTER than your towel!

It ends there. After 2 full washings, both washer and dryer had huge wads of lint in them, yet you could still the lint all over the towels. Decided to use them anyway.Absorbency - these towels I received actually repel the water, smearing all over my body, leaving me wet and freezing, with lint all over me. I reached for an old towel.I tried one first and never said a word to my wife about my experience. After her shower, she said " this towel just smears the the water around, making me wet and cold and covered in lint. I threw it on the floor and got my old towel"I really don't understand, maybe it's combination of having a water softener and Turkish Cotton ?Any recommendations on resort style bath sheets that are super absorbent, soft and heavy. Please advise.

A nice towel. Seems to be quite absorbent, so far. And nice and soft. Problem? Well, the ad says, in many places, that it's 80X40 inches. Mine is 76X36 inches. That's 464 sq. inches less than advertised. Don't get me wrong, it's plenty of towel and works for me. My main concern, as well as not getting what I thought I was, is if the company I bought it from cheated me or is being cheated by their manufacturer in Turkey. Bag it came in looked factory sealed and I am wondering if they spot check what they get at the production level to make sure the 80X40 are really 80X40. Somebody is making money somewhere and I just don't know who. 'Course, just coulda been a mistake, too. Who knows.

These towels are amazing. We have two we’ve owned for 20 years and used daily for 15 years and they are still great towels for cottage, beach, camping. We purchased more 6 years ago that are still practically like new. This latest set was a gift. Large, super-absorbent, luxurious. Can handle being washed on Sanitize and dried on Anti-bacterial settings. Avoid fabric softeners for max absorbency.
