Twisted King: A Dark Mafia Romance (Twisted City Duet, Book 2)

This was everything I needed book two to be. I love Lex so much, and wren is the bada$$ I knew she could be. I read both books in less than 24 hours and can't wait to read more from Ria!

This is book two in the Twisted City Duet by Ria Wilde. I was lucky enough to get an advanced reader copy in return for a non biased review.I was thoroughly looking forward to this final instalment and it didn’t disappoint.This picks up exactly where the cliffhanger from book one finished and Wren is in the hands of her father. He is no fatherly figure, in fact that term couldn’t be further from the truth as this guy is as evil as you can get. Wren sufferers like you would never imagine. Meanwhile Lex has completely lost it and tearing the city apart trying to get to his little bird before it’s too late.Can Lex safe her in time? Can Valentine be defeated and do we find out more about the dreaded Syndicate? Well you just need to read to find out.My favourite part of this instalment was a new character called Kingston being introduced and then delighted to see he is getting his own book so the story will continue in the universe. You are gonna love this tattooed hottie.Great Mafia Romance with lots of action and plenty of steam. 4/5 stars.

This is the second book so if you haven't read the 1st. Stop and go read it. Absolutely love the characters and the story. Wren was a handful in the 1st and even more so in the second. Lex as always super alpha and doment. Loved the other characters to and really look forward to there books. Absolutely loved reading from Ria definitely will be reading more. Don't read reviews just read the book. A hell of a ride, super sexy and hot. Super sass and alpha and what a world to disappear off to. Loved it now I am left with a book hangover lol

I was disappointed with this book when I enjoyed the first one. I found it just to be very filler. Maybe it was just me but I found aspects of it to be random, prolonged and just a bit anticlimactic for what was hyped in the first book. The ‘reasons’ for the actions in the first book felt a little too loose and not really explained or not as intense as I was expecting and then everything just kind of got cleaned up nice and easy after pages and pages of waiting for something to happen. I ended up skim reading a lot of this I got bored.

Ughhh loved this ending. The first half was sad, seeing what wren was going through but loved that she finally got her revenge!! I loved seeing how Lex was doing everything to get her back and seeing them come together fully after.Lex was so obsessed with her it was everything 🙌🏽 was such a good duet! Looking forward to reading the book about Kingston 🔥

Wow just wow I cant get over this book I read it in just a few hours much like the first one and just like the first one this was just as well written, captivating and incredible. I cant wait to read more from this author. I have to say the only disappointing thing is that this is over I could read about these characters forever.

This was a great book, dark and twisted just as the title suggests. A bit clumsy in places in terms of grammar and plot lines however still an enjoyable read, I’ll probably continue the series too.

What an epic conclusion to Wren and Lex's story. Gripped from the start and kept there until the very end. I seriously hope there will be books for all the other characters, because I need more!

Twisted King thankfully picks up right where little Bird left us hanging by a thread and on the verge of insanity. The conclusion to Wren and Lex's story is intense and gripping and will no doubt leave you holding your breath and grasping for sanity. This is by far the darker of the two books and I implore you to check any trigger Warnings before jumping right in to listen if you are sensitive to some subjects. With that said I admire an author who is not afraid to really go all in, and while there are very swoony moments this is not a fluffy watered down Mafia Romance. It’s violent, it’s gritty, it’s an edge of your seat ride with a well deserved HEA.Lucy Rivers and Joe Arden gave me chills so many times throughout this story. Wren went through a lot in this book and they both brought out that raw desperation, anger, and pain into their performances that you feel in your bones. It was breathtaking and just shows the talent they have that amazes me. Well done!!Overall the conclusion to this duet wrapped up the story nicely and I loved every minute it!!! And even though it’s early in the year I just know this duet will be one of my top listens of this year!

I loved how it didn’t have an abrupt ending like you usually get. This book had a smooth ending which at first had me confused but now is my favourite part about the book.

Lex found himself utilizing all of his resources and going above who he was as the king of darkness - just to get his little bird back. Twisted King gave us a beautiful wrap up to Wren and Lex's story. Even as the story starts off in a rough place there is alot of up and down that Ria has weaved into this book. Lex is willing to burn the world to ash to get his little bird back and it shows. Wren will not give up and will stop at nothing to protect the ones she loves. Together they will forever rule the Twisted City❤️❤️ I am excoted to read on and see where Kingston and Isobelle's stories take them. The Narrator's do an amazing job once again bringing these characters voices to us. I have really enjoyed listening to this series and can not wait to see what Kingston sounds like next.❤️

I’m sad to be finished such a great book dynamic couple I love a woman that is strong to stand beside and not behind her man !
