N YORKALL-NEW FIRE HD 8 KIDS TABLET, FULL HD

First up the seller is fine; on time and got what we ordeded, which is a plus. I imagine similar to many people considering the Fire HD kids tablets, we were looking for our 5 year old's first tablet when school told us we needed one. All the online reviews put this as the best tablet for kids and the price point was decent so seems like a no brainer.However, what I found out when setting this up is that the amazon fire kids platform that sits on top of android is only available in the US, so I literally had to change my personal amazon account from the UAE to the US, complete with finding a fake US zip code from google maps just to make it work, as the tablet won't work at all if you don't - there is no opt out option to turn it into a vanilla android tablet.Once achieved the tablet itself is fine, definitely robust as I managed to drop it when taking it out of the box and was delighted to see it bounced with not a scratch on it. The interface is also good and intuitive for kids, quite colourful with lots of amazon media stuff on there, which is good, but the OS is a bit clunky and the tablet is not frustratingly slow, but also not as slick as it could be. Camera seems good and user friendly.Having done a bit more research it seems like we probably will have to bite the bullet and cough up from a souless generic IPAD, but there are a few tablets at a similarly good price point that offer google kids space which looks great and could be a strong option and available in the UAE. One is the Lenovo M8 or M10 for example. The next challenge is to find a way of encouraging my little darling to put the damned thing down now and again.

Awesome deal a tablet that made for kids 2+ and going up… the only bad thing that u need to be in the states or uk to enable kids+ from amazon other than that u will have to do do everything manually
