Wasn’t sure but I kinda love it
When I received this backpack I really wasn’t sure. My old Timbuktu backpack was wearing out so I needed a new backpack for my commute. I tried my backpack in the side compartment and couldn’t get it in so I tried just putting it in the main compartment. I didn’t love that, so I let it sit for a while considering returning it. Of course the return window passed and I decided to try it again. It’s a really tight fit, but my laptop does fit! So I’ve been using it a couple weeks and love it. I LOVE the water bottle pockets because my large bottle fits and you could even do two. I used it in the rain and everything inside stayed dry. I always thought it looked great, so I’m happy it performs well too!

Very light and comfortable
It took a few commutes for the arm straps to break in a little bit, but then what I noticed most about this pack is that I don't notice it. It's very comfortable and I've been impressed with how light it is. So far it's kept my clothes nice and dry and I live in Seattle, so that's saying something.

Really good, but a couple of quirks
Great quality but a little bit quirky. The straps are slightly awkward, but they are workable. One more zipper pocket somewhere would be nice. It really just has the one big one on the outside. The trickiest thing is the laptop pocket. It took many tries before I discovered that I could get my 16 inch MacBook into it. The zipper really needs to be a half inch longer. I initially gave up and used the internal pocket for it.

Durable bag designed for all-weather commutes
This bag fulfills a special niche in the market, and your experience with the bag will depend a lot on whether that niche is what you need. It's not exactly a hiking daypack and it's not exactly an office backpack. It's a hybrid of those two genres that brings its own unique strengths.I say it's not a hiking daypack because it has a special laptop compartment and document file folder that would serve no purpose in a hiking daypack. And I say it's not an office backpack because it prioritizes functionality and durability over the traditional "office" aesthetic.I'd say this backpack is intended for someone with an all-weather commute. Maybe someone who bikes or walks to work. (Or maybe someone who takes their laptop into the woods?) And for that purpose, I'd say it's extremely well designed.I have several Osprey bags, and this Transporter Roll Top lives up the quality you expect from that brand. It's extremely durable and weather resistant. I tugged on all the common pressure points (handle, straps, zippers) and I didn't see any signs of strain or weakness. This bag swallows up gear and asks for more. The side pocket water bottle holders are extremely cool. They hold water bottles very securely, yet still make it possible to slip out the bottle with one hand. I was able to fit in a standard bike water bottle on one side and a full size Nalgene on the other, and it could probably hold bottles even bigger than that!Aside from those two water bottles, I was able to fit a 15" laptop, a big case holding a Nintendo switch and accessories, a notebook, sunglasses, extra battery pack, laptop power adapter and cords, and I STILL had room left over. Given how much you can fit in the main compartment, it's smart they included a zippered pocket for direct access to the laptop. When I wear it on with the chest strap and waist strap, it's very secure on my back, which makes me think it would work well for bike commuting. All that said, I still don't think this bag is perfect. There were a few things that didn't sit quite right with me. First, the file folder pocket is very flat and tight, probably right to hold a magazine and not much else. I would have liked to see it a bit more flexible. Second, the straps feel a little snug on my shoulders. It's okay, but if you have a large chest it might become uncomfortable. Finally, the exterior material really is very shiny. I prefer a more subdued style for something I carry into the office.Overall, this is a top quality bag that serves a niche market. If you have an outdoor commute and need something durable and functional to help you get there day after day, then you've found your bag.

Great For Commuting and Traveling
I have a couple of Osprey packs I use for hiking and I've always found them high quality and they last. This pack is no exception. This is a high quality pack that is perfect for commuting or for those who travel with their computer. It's not really built for hiking as the inside has pockets and sleeves for a computer and/or tablet. The outside of this backpack has a water resistant external pocket to keep things dry if it's wet outside. Plus, the roll top is also designed well to keep moisture from getting inside. This is a really roomy backpack. Besides having a laptop pocket, it has enough space for those who want to use it for a carry on bag. The straps are comfortable and a huge bonus is the adjustable waist strap that helps distribute the weight if it gets heavy. My favorite feature of this bag is they pockets on the side for water bottles. I've never used a pack that has this type of water bottle holder. It's designed to fit a variety of sizes of bottles and it stays snug so the bottles don't fall out. Plus, they're placed at the perfect spot along the backside of the pack so it's easy to reach when the pack is on. I've never had a pack where the bottles are this easy to reach and where they don't fall out when I take my pack off. While I wouldn't use this bag for hiking, it is perfect for traveling since I almost always travel with a computer. I can't find anything about this bag I don't like and it's consistent with what I've come to expect with the Osprey brand.

Great design
The design of the backpack is though out well and has been executed well. The bag appears to be completely waterproofed: the seams are stitched appropriately, and areas of concern are sewn with waterproof material. For example, although the bag exterior around the side compartments of the bag are simply water-resistant, the interior layers waterproof material that is completely integrated as a part of the bag and is not simply "attached". Furthermore, the front zippered pocket is hooded, preventing water from seeping into it (please note that I have not experienced being in heavy rain quite yet, so please be cautious with my words). Also, I am quite a heavy packer that often carries textbooks in my bags, and the additional top handle has lasted for the last two months despite being hanged occasionally.I am also quite a big fan of the organization of the bag. The internal organizer is completely hitched onto the back of the interior, meaning it doesn't sag. The laptop compartment has a false bottom (it's raised) that can fit my MacBook Air even with it's hardshell case on, and the smaller pockets vary in sizes that allow me dedicate each one respectively to a wallet, calculator, and pens. I think it's a nice feature that this organizer uses a stretchy material and that the top seams of each pocket are layered and durable. However, although it's considerate that the designers have included a keyloop inside the bag--considering that the bag is a roll-top--I barely use this feature. It would be more efficient to place the keyloop inside the front exterior pocket of the bag or in either of the side compartments.Lastly, this bag meets my needs in terms of comfort and safety. The addition of adjustable lumbar and sternum straps makes it a trusty companion for cycling. However, my only complaint is that you will be biking with free straps riding in the wind. If this is discomforting, I'd suggest using stretchy loops to secure the straps to themselves. Also, as the shoulder straps are hitched quite high on the bag (and the added necessity of finding a balanced sternum and lumbar strap tightness), I've sometimes encountered issues with visibility when it came to shoulder checking where I was forced to stop and readjust my straps. If you're planning on biking, please try to find your preferred strap tightness.Anyways, I'm glad I bagged this bag (GET IT? MWAHAHAAHAH!).Cheers.

Really good, but expensive
Very tidy looking bag for work and (non airline) travel. Possibly too big for low cost airlines, especially Wizz! But good bag, tidy water bottle side skirts. But EXPENSIVE (I got in sale, but still...)

Excellent and Versatile
Combines lightweight and comfort with ease of use. This is a great pack for travel, hiking or just a weekend away. It’s very light weight and yet feels robust. The straps are well designed so comfortable for long periods. The wide opening top makes access simple and the internal pocket is ideal for keeping an iPad secure.
