Louisiana Fish Fry Cajun Jambalaya Entree Mix, 7.5 Ounces - Pack of 4

I've tried a few other jambalaya mixes and recently landed on this one. It's exactly how I like, flavor wise, with the right amount of spices. If you prefer a more brown jambalaya, as opposed to a red one, you have to give this mix a try--very much like the jambalaya served in many New Orleans restaurants that serve Cajun cuisine.

This is the brand the Cajun side of my family always used. I used to take tons of bags back to Iowa with me after a visit because I had trouble finding it in the grocery stores there. The other brands just don't compare. I love to put chicken & andouille sausage in it. This is what jambalaya is supposed to taste like. I never liked the other popular brands. Yes it's different than a tomato-based jambalaya.

There is a difference btwn this one and zatarains. This one is not tomato based. It is a dark jambalaya. Zatarains is red, tomato based. I'm from New Orleans and grew up on the tomato based version. But I actually prefer this one! Add some chicken, sausage, shrimp. Serve with peas and potato salad. Or a piece of catfish. Yes maam!!!!

Very tasty with a little heat and great taste when meat ingredences where added and the holy trinity of celery, green pepers, and onion fresh.

This is the closest to real south Louisiana jambalaya you can get. Don't fall for the Zatarains jambalaya mix, that's north Louisiana jambalaya and it's not as good. I've made this so many times for guests and it's always a hit. Add rotisserie chicken and smoked sausage. Perfect every time.

Good, but needs a little more Cajun heat. I'll know the next time and make some additions.

This is not always easy to find around here, but this is definitely the best boxed jambalaya we have ever tried, so is worth ordering when you cannot find it.
