New formulation disappoints
I have been a longtime fan of Jurlique Rosewater Balancing Mist, but no longer. The company markets its new formulation with this tagline: "our most iconic product just got better. With a reformulation using the new, specially-grown Jurlique Rose extract that’s proven to improve skin barrier function hydration..." Unfortunately the new formulation barely smells of rose, with a fragrance that is more citrusy and bland; it also has a more astringent effect on the skin. The new mist has lost its distinctive mellow fragrance and its superior hydrating quality, and does not seem that different from a vast number of less expensive facial tonics on the market. Maybe Jurlique is sourcing their rosa damascena from a lower quality, less expensive supplier or has reduced the amount of this expensive oil in the new formulation... whatever the explanation, the product quality has deteriorated.

Bring back the old formula!
I used to use this product back in 2014 when I was pregnant with my first and had dry skin. I thought it would be a good idea to try it again. I was wrong. They completely changed the formula and spray bottle. The new formula burns my skin and doesn't leave it hydrated at all. The new bottle doesn't give out a super fine mist like it used to. The only thing that hasn't changed is the price of this product and the scent (it still smells like roses). They need to bring back the old formula, it was much better. For now, I'm using Innisfree Green Tea Hydrating Mist instead. It's half the price at a much better quality.

New but not improved
I absolutely loved the previous formula of this rose toner—my skin always felt moisturized and refreshed, and the scent was heavenly. I find new formula to be harsh. The alcohol content stings my face when I spritz and overpowers the rose scent (huge bummer). I often have to follow up with moisturizer, whereas I didn’t need to after applying the old formula (which is why I thought it was so stellar). The spritz is also a bit too heavy and it takes a minute for the administered amount to dry on my face.

The new formula stings your face!
I LOVED the older version/recipe of Jurlique and use it for a facial toner essentially. I have super dry, sensitive skin, so it took a while to find something that did not sting my face. Unfortunately, this new recipe does sting my face, so I will not be buying it anymore. It's a real shame because I really liked it before. Sigh.
