Voltage Tester Multimeter, Non-Contact Voltage Detector 6V/90V-1000V Dual Range with LCD Display Buzzer Alarm for Live/Null Wire Breakpoint Finder Outlet Volt Measure, SUETTLA X1 Electrical Tester Pen

Rather confusing for an amateur.

I got this pen because my gigantic fluke DVM was too much to carry around routinely. The slim design of this pen lets me slip it in a skinny sleeve of my tool bag. When I got the first one, the non-contact voltage detection feature did not work either on high or low sensitivity. I tried to work with the seller, but the language barrier kept them from understanding my detailed description of the problem. When they did not answer my second inquiry, I gave up trying to resolve the problem directly with them and went through the Amazon return process which worked great. The second pen work says it supposed to, and I am happy.

Need to have some electronic slills

Great little meter to keep in the toolbox. The only reason I didn’t give it 5 stars is that the display is sometimes difficult to see when probing hard to access points. No fault of this model meter but a general limitation of a pencil style meter.

This multimeter is great. It is a little slow to start - I’m used to multimeters coming right on. The continuity buzzer is too quiet and uncertain. The wired lead tip is too short to attach an alligator clip. Both tips are very sharp and require covers.

Easy to use, and came with probes

All the functions work decently. Resistance of 2k or below read low by about 2%, claimed accuracy is 1.2% so that's out of spec. The probe on the pen is short but if you get the model with the back probe pins then not a problem.

I was skeptical at first because it claims to do so much in such a tiny product. This thing really surprised me though. Super easy to go from checking from live wires to immediately testing voltages. The auto-detect feature takes the guesswork out of it too.I wouldn't recommend it for much more than detecting live wires and getting readings of voltage levels and conductivity, but you wouldn't buy this if you were actually serious about working on electrical circuits anyways
