Q: Is this a powder or is it more granuel? I am looking for a very coarse DE product.

Unless it has changed, this is more gritty than the typical white/light gray diatomaceous earth. I have better success with this for internal parasites with animals and humans. The soft powder is better for external use ON animals when needed for fleas, mites, etc. This contains calcium bentonite clay, which adds another awesome benefit.

Q: Can it be used in a chicken dust bath to get rid of mites, lice and other parasites?

Use DE for that. I offer calcium bentonite for exposure to mold in hay and offer it free choice like baking soda. Haven't seen the chickens dust bathing in it.

This is product is use on animals feed as anti caking agent :)
