Snail mail letters in the age of social media
I had fun following Amy on her journey of letter writing and found this book to be fun, warm, inspiring, and fantastic. I liked her comparisons of writing actual letters and being friends on Facebook. I also liked the different reaction s she got from the recipients of her letters.

This was a good book.
I love the idea of this book and the story behind it. The author is a very personable story teller. Parts of the book became very repetitive but I am so glad I finished it. I love the idea that everything happens for a reason.

Food for Thought
While I read this book from beginning to end, I found that although the author is a decent writer, the book itself felt rather tedious to me. For some reason, I just couldn't "get into it" although it did prompt me to consider whether I too should write a real letter to each Facebook friend. However I don't feel led to do that even though my friends list is MUCH shorter! That said, this book did provide additional "food for thought" such as "Why didn't I create Facebook? Then I could VISIT certain Facebook friends and family!" And "There is not one person on my friends list where I would have to wonder just how we connected." I suppose that's a good thing but not very conducive to adventure. Seriously, though I truly feel badly for Amy's friend Dana and her family who lost their son and brother to cancer (which prompted Amy to reach out) I think I could have skipped this one. It's slow reading to read a book about writing 500 plus letters and bare tidbits of each recipient's life --although I recognize in the interests of privacy, friendship and respect it is necessary to be brief and non specific. It's just that this book would have been better as a journal or diary since it is MOST meaningful to those directly involved!

A magical memoir that sparks joy and inspiration .
I’m only half way through and felt compelled to write how much I love everything about this book. Bravo Dana for taking on a project that would transform so many lives, including the recipients of your letters and all of us who read this treasure of a book. I can not beleive there are not at least 580 reviews here!! I hope all of your recipients will post reviews to show to all those browsing for memoir choices , what an impact this book has made. If your reading the reviews trying to decide on a remarkable memoir choice, pick this book. I’m going back to finish the rest now.Amy you have sparked joy in me and I hope others get inspired yo write on paper and touch someone’s life. Rewarding both ways 😊

Beautiful story!
Dear Dana is a beautiful story that shows true connections with "friends" or those we believe are our friends. I have been involved in this actual story almost from the very beginning. Once you read this book you will become aware of #CONSTANT. I have the honor of being on Team Constant and know the impact this has made not only on the Rivera family but on my own life as well. On one hand it is a powerful story of how one small letter lead to a forever beautiful bond between "true" friends while at the same time it tells how social media is really not what it seems. You will read letters from the recipients that, while they portray this wonderful life on Facebook, the reality is all is not what it seems. This is a very easy and quick read. It leaves the reader wanting to read more of the Facebook letters to get a glimpse of what you don't see on social media or what the impact of a simple handwritten letter can have on someone. I cannot recommend this book enough.

Heart Grabber!
Loved reading your book! You presented a novel about real life that is so fitting for today. It's 2022 for me. Many jokes are made about our "friends" on Facebook. You nailed it Amy! A gal in a book club I'm in asked me to please report on your book next time after I described it. I plan to do that. Thanks for a good read. Ialso liked how I could easily put it down and pick it back up feeling like I'd never left! Loved how you shared your spiritual insights too!

I would give this book six stars if possible. Amy’s amazing letter-writing campaign is a beautiful story of her remarkable friendship with Dana. This is a book that will make you laugh, cry, reminisce and ponder your friendships, and best of all, inspire you to put pen to paper and write a letter. Filled with beautiful insights, this book will stay with me for a long time. It’s so powerful to me that I’m sending a copy to a childhood friend. Read this book and you’ll be inspired by how God’s love can change you even in the deepest moments of tragedy and grief.
