These pads are a bit delicate - they don't take to heat all that kindly. In other words, the pad can melt if the abrasive sanding discs get too hot. I made the mistake of treating my Festool like my old faithful American made Porter Cable sander - which can grind through about anything and keeps on keeping on. It was my own stupidity (I was too lazy to go get the PC) that caused it to melt as the Festool is for fine work and the PC is for sanding everything else. Anyhoo.... this worked like a champ to get the "lump" out of the pad that I destroyed and the Festool is "as good as new".At these prices... it won't happen again. :-D

It's an original replacement, wish it lasted longer.
This is the exact replacement for the Festool original. I wish they lasted longer. They are soft enough that they wear out too fast.
