Extremely useful
TL;DR: Great for identifying vintage glass that glows (like uranium glass) and working with UV resin.I originally bought these to give one to my mom. She collects vintage glass and some types glow under UV light. She used to carry a UV flashlight in her purse so she could identify whether or not it glows. Those flashlights are kind of bulky so she wouldn't always have it with her. Of course when you need it you don't have it. A keychain is far better since it's small and you always have it with you.I've adopted the rest for myself and I love them. I use UV resin a lot in my art and jewelry making. These aren't strong enough to fully cure a whole piece but they definitely have their uses! There are times you need something to cure slowly at the beginning to keep it from shrinking too much. These are perfect for that as they help prevent overheating. It'll harden the resin to the touch, though the surface will still be really sticky because it hasn't fully cured. By the time you move your piece to your UV lamp or into the sun your piece has cooled down enough that when it starts curing again it won't shrink as much as it might if you start with putting it directly under your lamp.It also works great when you need to quickly cure something small such as attaching something. Sometimes it's really hard to hold two pieces together and also grab your flashlight or maneuver it under your lamp. I found with these I can use the ring to hold it on one finger and then use another finger to press the button. This hardens the resin enough to hold the pieces together until you put it under your lamp or outside to finish curing. Just remember that UV light can't penetrate anything opaque so don't expect it to work like glue unless at least one of the things you are attaching is transparent. They also have a switch to keep it on indefinitely so you don't have to keep holding the button. I also like that you get more than one because I tend to lose small things a lot so this way I have plenty of backups.I like them so much I've recommended them to a UV group I am a part of.

Not only a great product, but a company to invest in!
***UPDATED***In today's economy, what sells me on a product, and then a brand, is the customer service of the company. Every product can experience bugs as it goes through the maturation of the line, but if the company is solidly behind it, those bugs become easily forgotten. I wrote the above average review based on a very practical, probably jaded, mother of 5. What has made me a fan of these, and re-evaluating my opinion of them is that the manufacturer contacted me almost immediately, and offered to replace the bag because it had contained some that didn't work. When I forgot to respond (remember the 5, right?) they followed up two months later when they were introducing a new line, and offered to send me one of those for testing. As promised, the replacement LED lights were shipped via UPS. They DO, in fact, remain constant if you slow down long enough to look it over. There's a toggle above the pressure switch. Unlike before, all function wonderfully. We bought these to recharge my daughter's glowing pendant/locket (two minutes with a black light charges the glow for four hours), and I wanted something small, that she could attach to her book bag, purse or cell, and that there were plenty of replacements for (she's 14 and tends to loose anything smaller than a refridgerator). And they do exactly that. She's taken to wearing the necklace everytime we go somewhere at night, just to get the compliments. My youngest son also loves them because we spent the evening using them on different currencies to find "secret" symbols LOL.Not only do I recommend this product, but I HIGHLY recommend this seller.*****ORIGINAL REVIEW*****Have to hold continuously to get the light to stay on. And several didn't work out of the bag. Average lifespan with moderate use has been about 2 months.

they seem to be reliabble
I give these away to customers who buy a piece of vaseline or uranium glass at my shop. They've always been reliable, but I've never purchased a box of 50 before. At this point, I have no way of determining whether the batteries will hold on for as long as I store them. We also carry them on our key chains, and find them to be reliable for quite a while.

Not as UV as you may think, but they're a pretty purple nonetheless.
I bought these to use at work to help cashiers identify counterfeit bills. While they are strong enough to give SOME glow to flourescent strips, they aren't powerful enough to see without being in a dark room. They are now there to just have a presence at the registers, and keep cashiers on point with checking for counterfeits. If you want purple LED keychain lights, these are going to make you happy. If you wanted that awesome UV effect from the power of a keychain light, look elsewhere.UPDATE: While I haven't been using these how I originally intended to, these have become really nice in use for detailing and as a non-glare flashlight that doesn't blind you for the next 30 seconds after using them. I detail cars on the side in addition to being a c-store manager, and these are handy for making sure you don't miss any spots while shampooing as it shows (some) chemical as a different shade otherwise unable to be seen. I like to be thorough, and these ended up having an unintended purpose in my arsenal of random goodies. For the price, I see no reason not to buy a baggie and hand them out to friends. The remainder of those I don't use, are ending up as cool stocking stuffers for Christmas. :)

fine, I guess...
These tiny flashlights do their job. I sell uranium glass jewelry and I bought these to include as a freebie to include with my items, and they are definitely UV because they make the uranium glow. But, they're small so they're very weak, and the battery doesn't last long. That probably explains why they're so cheap.
