I was initially a little concerned about them popping open, since I wanted to put up heavy blackout curtains. I clipped a bunch onto each curtain, and they glide smoothly on the bar. Needed a pair of plyers because some of the alligator clips seemed stuck shut, but once they were opened that way, I was able to operate the clip with just my hands. The rings are also kind of stiff, but I'm hoping that means they also won't pop open easily during normal use.

I've purchased several different types of these rings for hanging curtains on my patio. These are the strongest and obviously well manufactured.

They are a little smaller that I though and a little hard to open but they work.

I was looking for curtain rings that open & with hooks. Here they are! They serve their “purrpose”!

I needed these for a specific shower curtain to hang, but I did struggle terribly with re-closing these rings. It is a very tight close and I had sore hands by the time I was done. I hurt myself, but if you have strong hands you may do better.
