Haven't used it yet but it appears robust and heavy duty. Far better than anything I've had before. Bought it to remove an oil filter that was over tightened and much smaller than the OEM ones. It should get the job done as I can use a long wrench with it.

I was happy with the way this worked. My Nissan Pathfinder has a tiny oil filter and the small 3 finger one I tried wouldn't go small enough. This one had plenty of grip at the smallest size and had plenty of ways to get ahold of it toolwise.

I have a piece of machinery that when the dealer last serviced it, they put the oil filter on using an impact wrench. I tried to replace the filter myself recently, and couldn’t get the filter to move. I found this universal filter tool, and saw how it tightens as you apply more force. Figured it should make replacing the filter easier. I was definitely correct. As soon as the teeth on this tool gripped the filter, the filter started turning. I was expecting to be fighting with the filter for an hour or more. To my surprise, I had the old filter off, and new one on in five minutes. It took me longer to clean the oil drippings off the engine. This is a FANTASTIC tool! I highly recommend it!

We have multiple size filters for different cars and we have tried this three different times. The idea of the product is great but the actual performance of it don’t work. It slips off and there is not actual grip to the filter. It just slides around it. Was really hoping this would work but I’m disappointed to say it does not!

seems like a good tool and concept and probably is except for smooth side filters it is difficult to make it grab and will slip before it breaks a stubborn seal

Arrives set to remove an oil filter and that use is straight forward. Changing to the remove setting without instructions, takes some trial and error. There are two hex head bolts on the top that must be removed. Next step is to reposition the cams on top to the opposite positions and reattach the 2 bolts. After getting it to the on position, I liked the device because it goes both ways, and many don’t.

I used this wrench for the first time yesterday. It expands easily to fit on the oil filter. It is easy to fit a socket extension and use a ratchet to remove or tighten the oil filter. This wrench works as advertised. I would recommend it for owners of yard tractors and zero turn mowers.

This item does loosen and tighten. Open it and Stretch it out, then you can turn the top and put the cam in the orientation you need. It’s a good design. The first one I ordered only had a spring installed on one side. Amazon sent a replacement and this one has a spring on both sides like it’s supposed to. So quality out of the box a little suspect and you need to check that you get both springs. I’m sure it will work with one, but also sure it will work better with two.
