A fantastic field watch at a compelling price
This is a great field watch! This is my first time owning a Timex, and I have to say I'm impressed. I've owned a handful of Casio watches, a Seiko, and an Orient, and I wanted to give Timex a try. I've owned watches that cost more than 5 times the roughly $30 I paid for this one, and while this is definitely not in the same league as a Seiko or an Orient, I am very pleased with it. I've been wanting a field watch for awhile now to have as a more casual analog option, and this fits the bill perfectly. It's water resistant to 50 meters, it came with a comfortable NATO strap, and it has luminous hands as well as Timex's Indiglo feature, which is Timex's backlight technology that illuminates the full dial. So if you need to check the time in the dark, simply press the crown and the full dial will light up, which adds to practicality. This Timex expedition has a metal case, and I'd recommend it over the other expeditions that have a resin case, as the resin case expeditions have a notoriously loud tick and this one is a good bit quieter. The build quality is also noticeably better than the resin case models. I plan to use this as my daily driver/beater watch at work because it's simple and good looking, and is cheap enough that if it gets damaged it's not a big deal. Time accuracy is great as well, considering it's a quartz watch.Overall, if you're in the market for a field watch that is practical, affordable, and good looking, this is the watch for you.

Unbelievable watch. You won't be disappointed!
Overall, for the $45 I spent on this watch, I feel like I won the watch lottery. It looks equally amazing in jeans and t-shirt as it does in my suit and tie when I go to work. It has an understated coolness/elegance to it. I definitely recommend this quality, reliable, beautiful Timex Expedition Scout 43mm as a daily wear watch or as an occasional wear in your collection rotation!I have an extensive watch collection (regular person watches, nothing "luxury" ... that's a laughable term for a watch, IMO). I have all categories of quartz watches; dive, pro dive, dress, casual, vintage/retro, knock-about, etc., with all bracelet/strap types and I was surprised that this watch has emerged as my absolute favorite of all of them. I think it is the perfect size (43mm wide and 11mm thick case) and the black coated brass case is gorgeous, lightweight, and durable. The main numbers and indices are large and very readable at a glance. Readability is further helped by the contrast between the black dial and the white number and indices. The dial includes an inner circle of smaller numbers that show military time, which is useful. The seconds hand has an orange tip, making it very easy to see against the background. The medium brown leather strap has beautiful contrast stitching and a case-matching black buckle, which I thick looks amazing. The leather seems to be good quality and I think it will look even better as it ages and becomes softer and wrinkled. There is no lume on the watch but it comes with Timex's excellent Indiglo lighting, which works just fine in the dark. The date window kind of blends in with all the numbers and indices but once you get used to where it sits on the dial, it's no problem to see. This watch looks SO MUCH BETTER in real life than in these photos. In fact, the case almost looks gray in the photos, but it's a very nice dark black color in real life. It has a mineral glass crystal, which is fine and expected for the price, but you could easily replace that with sapphire if you ever wanted to. The movement is a reliable Myota quartz movement.

It's A Timex Expedition Scout, But Not What I Ordered.
I received a mint condition Timex Expedition Scout Watch, it's a good looking simple Quartz watch. The indiglo feature works well, the strap is comfortable, and there's no loud ticking. It's an excellent watch for a very affordable price. However, I did not receive what I ordered. I ordered the Black/Black/Grey model, and I received a model with a crown guard (An appreciated feature) that didn't exist on the picture, a black nylon strap with brown leather reinforcement, grey dial and a not very grey case instead of the black leather strap with a black dial and dark grey case sans crownguard that was pictured online.I'm not going to return this watch, because what was delivered to me is a perfectly functional and simple field watch that looks similar to the picture online. I assume I got the updated model or something, I saw reviews complaining about the lack of a crownguard and how it was easy to damage the crown.

Good entry level option
Very nice and simple watch. I bought this as my first watch so I don't have any others to compare it to like a Casio or Seiko but this a really nice option from my experience. i'm the type of person that wears quite a bit of earthy tones and the brown band matches well with the khaki and brown that I wear. The band seems to be good quality and the clock itself doesn't doesn't seem to be all that loud either. I haven't left it on the counter to see if it's resistant to water or moisture but i work outdoors and it's held up decently with no scratches, it's also ready to read under sunlight as well.
