Smart video monitoring that works with any camera With Camio Box, any camera with an H.264 RTSP video stream has real-time human and object detection, machine learning, natural language search, and smart alerts. Camio learns what you find interesting from the way you use it. That learning enables Camio Box to pre-filter video events for bandwidth-efficient video monitoring. Know at-a-glance what's happened while you're away Camio does the work for you to highlight the video events that warrant your attention. Rather than wading through hours of recorded video, you get fast video summaries and precise alerts that tell you what you need to know. Camio Box analyzes video on your local network. So unlike cameras that upload continuously or upon motion detection, each Camio Box handles 3 HD video streams without bogging down your Internet connection. Unlimited Storage & Cameras Connect as many cameras as you want in one streamlined feed. All your video is automatically stored for the last 30 days in the cloud. Try it with your cameras free and upgrade to Camio Plus for only $4.99 / camera / month when using Camio Box. Technology that Learns Using the most advanced machine learning algorithms, Camio is able to identify the most important events that were recorded. Camio also learns what you care about from the way you use it, so it gets smarter over time, continuously improving your alerts. Personalized & Precise Alerts Save queries like "people approaching walkway", so you receive alerts that matter most to you. Camio captures your feedback to fine-tune the alerts that are most relevent to you. Camio converts real-time video into useful information We want to make the real world to talk to us - telling us just what we want to know just when we need to know. We have two goals: 1) Simplify video monitoring to open access to everyone, and 2) Make video smart and useful. People all over the world have recorded millions of hours of footage of their homes, businesses and loved ones with Camio. Even more important to us than the amount recorded is that Camio algorithms have sifted through that footage — in real-time — enabling people to capture those few, important moments that actually matter. About the Startup Describe your product in 3 words. Smart video monitoring How did you come up with the idea for this product? Working with the team launching Google Street View, we saw the transformative power of submitting a simple search query and instantly seeing our homes, neighborhoods and workplaces on our screens. What struck us most was how many people assumed Street View was a live view, vs. a previously captured image. The number of people who made this mistake first struck us as funny, but soon we realized it said something about people’s expectations of today’s tech: they believed we had the ability to search for something specific happening in the real world and see it immediately. They had a point. Why couldn’t we? What makes your product special? It learns. Even while being open to all cameras, it collaborates with cloud-assisted Machine Learning and advanced Neural Networks to highlight what's interesting to you. Each camera has its own learning model that's specific to its unique scene. What has been the best part of your startup experience? The joy of creating something great with 100% focus on product and the gratitude shared with us by the people using Camio.

I am one of the developers of this product and I have a few of them at home. It looks like a Raspberry Pi because the hardware is a Raspberry Pi but it comes loaded with custom software that can detect video feeds within your network (from your cameras), performs some local analysis and then send them to the Camio.com cloud where the video is stored (for one month), analyzed using machine learning and neural networks, and made searchable using natural language ("human approaching with a red shirt"). It is all seamless and plug and play. You can check out camio.com even before you buy the product as the service allows you to use an existing smartphone as recording device (as well as a viewer). The machine learning capabilities are quite unique in this space and state of the art. Camio also learns from your interaction with the system what kind of content you consider important and allows you to filter video events based on what it thinks you may find interesting. For example it will quickly learn that you want to see when somebody approaches the door, but not when the tree in front is shaken by the wind. Finally it has some social features which allow to share cameras or single videos, with other users as well as on social networks.
