Schutt Youth Lightweight Thigh Pads - Universal, White

I ordered these pads from Amazon because our local Dick's Sporting Goods was out of football pads for the season. I wanted a second set of pads so I don't have to keep switching them from his practice pants to his game pants.These pads are rigid and thick, meaning that our 11 year old son's thighs will be protected from bruising. They are made from closed cell foam, so they can go in the washer - although I usually take them out and wipe them down with a damp cloth if needed. I have washed them in the pants without any problem of them being saturated.My only complaint is that these are sold as "youth" sized pads but they are much bigger than the ones we bought at the store. I had to work at it to get them in the pockets of his pants, and they are much more visible when he's wearing the pants. I would say these are high school boy sized, not for middle school boys. But we will keep them because we can't get any others before the season is over.These are well made and do a good job of protecting a player's thighs. Just be aware that they might be bigger than you expect. Shipping on these pads is free for purchases over $25, which makes them a good bargain.
