I have had a Kyocera brand ceramic knife and it was sharper and smoother. But, these are quite sharp for most any purpose. Frankly, I got them after watching a YouTube by a real expert in knife edges and sharpening who praised ceramic knives for cutting cardboard for miles and miles before getting dull. And, that's what I'm going to use them for. Prefer my steel knives for food prep and other things.The handles are super comfy and the sheathes are a nice touch.
