This is a pretty little splitter. It would be ok for small wood, but not for large hardwood logs.

Horrible. Recently had the chance to split wood. Nope did not work.Wood oak.Don’t waste your money.

It’s good for very small pieces of wood

Unit is small and comes very, very dull…used a grinder to get a nice sharp blade…a heavy hammer/axe heel make it easier to secure wood your splitting with firm tap…2-3 small blows and the wood splits easily…

My wife has trouble using the Estwing Fireside Friend on some of the harder pieces. So I grabbed this, mounted it to a stump I use in the garage for kindling, it works better than expected. It could be modified a bit with the flanges heated and bent down each side along the blade axis. Then mounted to fit on a heavier stump you would get some more wedge out of the mount flanges you bend to help split maybe some 8” pieces. I’ll have to try this and update. Works well as is though.
