removed old door opener, placed this one, was exactly compatible. easy to install and adjust. will buy in future if ever there's a need again.

Works fairly well but makes the door a lot heavier to open
Just installed this at home for the door to my garage. Works fairly well although it took quite a bit of adjusting to get it to return slow enough to not slam but close hard enough at the end to actually latch the door.But it also makes the door twice as heavy to push open. Puts up a lot more resistance than I expected. Maybe the more expensive models do that better? The descriptions aren't very clear about the differences.

QUALITY, HEAVY DUTY ON THE BETTER ONE'S.I'VE BEEN BUYING THESE FOR YRS AND NOT ONE HAS FAILED.THE OTHER BRANDS LEAK, LOCK UP DUE TO CHEAP MATERIALS IN CONSTRUCTION.VERY PLEASED WITH THIS BRAND.

Good Closer
Ordered this closer to replace an existing one on a commercial door. Installed like a breeze and adjusted quickly.. Same quality as the one that was replaced. Would buy another when needed.

Buyer beware...
This is a dysfunctional unit...it works at closing a door...but to open the door takes two hands...it is freakishly heavy to open...I am a 240 pound man...it takes a lot of trying just to open the door. Older...frail...people who are not super strong are not going to open this door. Another case of a product that has not been actually tested in real homes by real people.When you see the term Commercial Grade...many people love that...it means that the product is stronger built and will last longer. In this case...Commercial Grade means exactly what it sounds like...and what it is...a stronger unit that is purpose built for a store front business where people body shove the door for entry.

Nice closer, easy install
Looks like a nice unit - especially for the price. It comes with a mounting template for each of the 3 ways that it can be installed. I guess it could be a little confusing, but I found it relatively easy to install, and I'm happy with it.I hope it lasts a long time, but if not, I'll come here and complain about it publicly!

not much stronger than a household grade
product did not have enough strength to close door against a 25 kph wind , other than that it seems to be o.k.
