Completely silent in operation on this desk alongside a Mac Studio which is also silent. Computer and this audio mixer, powered on contribute to serene use, no stress. . Audio become very slightly warm after extended use. Controls are nicely matched - reversing my two mics leaves the settings identically where they were - mics are identical too. The KnoxGear headset is comfortable, keeps out other noise in the room. An audio or FaceTime chat through this with two mics lying on the desk means a low volume conversation doesn't disturb anyone nearby, yet my voice is crystal clear on the other end. My mics are cardiod pattern- directional. Good enough for recording though these are not at level of condenser mics which this ProFX6 would handle. I've mixed in audio via cable from a Yamaha digital grand piano, too. Very nice. For conversation, the special effects are not necessary but very easy to trim back or cancel completely and go straight through. I'd use this for musical groups and speech with several people/sources through a single usb-c or thunderbolt port. I wish there were some different color knob inserts - In dim light I only notice the knob ends, not the text on the panel.I'll add a drop of paint on one white knob.. Setting do not drift, regardless of room temperature. Very clean sounding. If in doubt, set the controls to midpoint and go from there. The manual and first time user may be a bit daunting. It looks technically challenging but you can get it working quickly. I have not tried the downloadable software as it costs a lot and isn't necessary for my simple uses. I will try this later with Apple's Logic Pro software.
