Wonderful product.
Very well-made and a good range of motion. BUT... I used my Dremel and burred away some areas to increase the range of motion even more. The mannequin is made of excellent quality styrene so it was easy to do. I read some of the other reviews complaining about the body shape and head size but they are of no bother when the artist mannequin is used as they were intended - to give the artist a starting point of reference to do his/her own interpretation on a 2D or 3D project. I think the folks complaining about the body are trying to use the artist mannequin as a kind of a "GI Joe" doll. I also bought the female version. I sculpt figures and these will be great to have.

Good Show
Having taken years of life drawing classes, I decided to have models of my own. This female is the second one I've purchased from the Sideshow Collectibles, the first being the male model. They are amazing in details, fingers and toes nails included. The male model lacks a "belly button" however. The engineering is well thought out allowing lifelike poses most parts of the body parts. For steadier standing poses I glued tiny magnets to their soles of their feet securing them to a steel covered rotating platform. The hands are cupped so that a thin wooden dowel can be inserted as a "third" leg. It must have been a momentous company decision to use a medium grey for the coloring of the models, the rational being its neutrality aids in drawing. It's fine but just for the heck of it I painted my model with a flesh tone. I've even made wigs for them using "hair' from inexpensive dolls from my local 99 cents store. I'm happy. Thanks Art S. Buck.

Pretty worthless for what I need
I initially bought one of those wooden artist's manikins, but it didn't really flex much. Pretty worthless for what I need. I am a biomechanist and do forensic work which includes cases of falls, pedestrian/car events, etc. I need to use a model to simulate what-ifs, so the model needs to be detachable from its stand and needs to be able to get into positions a real human body could assume. This one does a great job. I also bought a male Obitsu model which I like even more, although it is nearly twice the cost.

Nice
This one is slightly odd looking. It will help with drawing the hands and feet, making sure in poses that the feet are the proper sides of the feet etc. That is what I needed it for. Sometimes I can confuse myself when drawing, this is perfect for me, to check for that.

I think it is much better than the traditional wooden mannequins of the past
I am very impressed with how well made this is. I think it is much better than the traditional wooden mannequins of the past. It comes in a sixth scale which is fine for my needs at the present time. If it were ever made in a quarter scale I would buy it. I will be using mine for drawing but I also draft patterns for clothing. That is why I say a quarter scale version, or one a tad bit larger, for pattern drafting would be fantastic. I think the price is very reasonable considering the quality of this mannequin. It was packaged very well and arrived on schedule. I am very happy with my order.

Very flexible except for knees to chest position
I purchased this to help me pre-plan a live model's poses for my fine art nude photography work. It appears to be much better than lower cost alternatives available on this website. It is sturdy, well-made and quite flexible. Its hands, elbows, shoulders, knees, neck, waist and ankles will move fairly "similar" to comparable human parts. The reason I gave it 4 starts instead of 5 is because its lower torso and hip joints don't allow its legs(thighs) to be moved up against the model's chest. This was almost a "deal-breaker" for me because there were a variety of arm-leg combinations that I wanted to experiment with in this position. However, I may be able to fix this by grinding down some "protruding" edges on the lower torso..

Huge head, tiny shoulders and waist with stripper's chest
The pictures don't do this model justice. It's beyond ugly and misproportioned. A Barbie would be a more accurate representation of the female form. There are many others available on Amazon, do yourself a favor and don't buy this one.

He works good in certain positions and really really bad like getting ...
I agree, he's kinda stiff. Shoulders do go far forward for some reason. He works good in certain positions and really really bad like getting his hand close to his face naturally. It will do some of the work I need but it's not Stickybones which is not made yet and will set you back 100 bones.
