This 550 is a great addition to my 1/10 scale custom crawler. The 5-slot motor is quiet and packs just the right amount of punch for my application. Came in a nice package with foam. Sadly no extra decals but I will reach out to Reedy for those. Make no mistake, this is a very high quality motor and is a great value.

First off. Red cat gen 8. Stock gears... Slow speed with more torque. But absolutely no wheel speed.. headed to the park now to test. Some rock, some trail, some clay.Almost a month now. Seems to be not as quiet now. Don't understand it.. on 3s 5200mah 80c a bit slower than stock. More torque. I'll give it that. But once I put a 2s 5200 100c. I have to change the motor plugs. Simply reversing on the radio Link doesn't do it. If I don't change the motor plugs. Stupid slow. If I don't change it back when I go back to 3s. It's slow until I change the wires around. And now it gets hot. And I'm running hobbywing 1080 V2. My rig probably does weight 9-11lbs.. and the park takes around 4hrs to crawl and for the walking of the trail to the next set of out croppings. I've played with all 4 timing adjustments. Minus about 16. I had thought it was minus 6&12 -/+. My motor is marked 10&20 -/+. One spot it doesn't have the wheel speed. But also at the same time. Two of the other obstacles climbs no problem where the stock has no chance. Go figure.. all in all. Maybe I should have tried Holmes Hobbies.. I don't know I'm good with it as long as it lasts longer than the stock motor also burnt up a Traxxas that was in my rustler before going brushless.. burnt both motors up using the 1080 with nothing speed or power wise set above 4. A couple of settings are at 1...
