The David Thompson Highway Hiking Guide Paperback – 10 May 2016

I have been visiting this general area for years. The highway / hiking guide provided a wealth of new insight and history to the area I visit. It open up my mind to new routes and sights. Great book, would recommend.

This book is the perfect companion for someone who frequents the area. Full of great stories, history and wonderful directions.

The book quality is great. The paper its made of is a strong glossy type that seems durable. It has about 75 different trails in it of the David Thompson area. These trails range from an hour long to 3 days. There are several coloured maps in this book that show the trails in good details. Each trail has a description with a difficulty rating and description on what kind of hike from bush wracking, to scrambling to nice lake strolls. There is also fun facts about the area. At the back of the book there is a brief ammentities section that mention a golf course, gas stations, and accomidations for the area.

Out of print, full of information on hiking and camping. Also includes many photos and historical facts of native and early explorer stories. Love it!

We love it. We bought this book 15 years ago and it was time to get the second edition. It is updated a bit, since the trails did not change that much. The directions, descriptions, distances and comments are very detailed. We never got lost and the hiking trails were exactly like it was described in the guide, no surprises ( except for the views- amazing). We were able to pick out easy trails to hike with our young grandchildren as well more challenging ones for more mature crowd. If anybody likes hiking with a little of self guiding this book is a must ! You would never imagine that all those beautiful trails are existing and are ready for your boots to explore if it was not for David Thompson Highway Hiking Guide.
