Auditory processing, THEY WORK
Thank you. I was diagnosed with auditory processing disorder in middle school, my right brain is more dominant than my left and wow it really favors my left ear first and my right ear last. It does not effect me one on one but I recently as an adult have started doing some simple courses and was immediately reminded why I dropped college and did vocational school. I wanted to cry two weeks ago, I was in a big echo lecture hall and I was focusing so hard on hearing things in the right order, I wasn’t comprehending and then I’d sit trying to decode it like it then they’d be talking about something else new and join in midway, ugh. I almost cried. I got these overnighted and have been fiddling with them and used them in the concert hall setting again, woah! I could cut all surrounding noise out and only hear their voice and especially when I set the front facing mics on, I couldn’t hear anything behind me!!!! I had clarity and what’s most important since I don’t have hearing loss with my diagnosis, but because both ears heard it at the same pitch and volume- neither one favored over the other first and my hearing was stable!!! I don’t care that I’m 27 walking around with hearing aids!! These are so custom to perfection and easy!!! I’ve built a business around my disability only working one on one with people, I do still hear things from one wrong side of the to other, don’t ask me to find your phone in the room lol, I just got to feel so normal today! The lecture felt like a one on one convo, and- I sat on the far left of the hall so my bad ear of the side that struggles most, and had zero issue! I don’t have to be a front row and center student like I remember!!! Thank you, they also let me play music on my loud speaker at my office, then I pop in my aids and the music stays on my speakers for my clients and I get to hear evenly an I can hear my music too or I set it to cut all background and it mutes everything but my customers voice!!! Thank you so much! I can’t wait for live concerts and stand up comedy, I’ve always felt a little robbed by how poor my comprehension of hearing is at those… I get to try so many new things now, thank you!!

Right Ear Bud dead out of the box
Sound Quality was great however, the right earbud was deal upon arival. I updated the firmware via the mobile app with no luck. After looking into the app the right earbud didn't have a firmware version. Not what i expected for $250 on sale.

Quite good
I bought these because of their hearing amplification feature. Watching movies or sitting in meetings, it's sometimes difficult for me to hear what people say (I have hearing loss). They do make speech clearer for me. I haven't played a lot with settings yet (there are quite few of them), but I think that fiddling with them might make these even better. Some settings do cause really akward sound effects (distortion and whistling feedback noise). For example, water flowing from a faucet causes so distorted noise that I'll have to turn world off temporarily.Memory foam tips fit very comformatably to my ears and they provide good noise isolation. I listen mostly podcasts and sometimes the voice quality is so bad that I wish that IQBuds had an equlizer of their own to improve sound quality. Pumping up the volume for already damaged ears is not a good solution and sometimes it doesn't even help.Good purchase, no regrets so far.

Did not perform well for me
I tested the buds in various situations, being more interested in the quasi-hearing-aid function than in streaming. The sound did not seem very natural, in particular the sound of my own voice, but also other sounds. They did not help particularly in distinguishing speech such as dialogue on TV. I tried the noise reduction in the car, and found it not helpful. Direct testing of ANC versus no-ANC showed that the difference was barely perceptible. All that said, the product had many good features, and I found the Android app easy to work with. I wanted to like them, but they just didn't work for me. I returned them.

Amazing for me.
These worked for me: I have tinnitus and an audio processing disorder. I set it up; did the hearing test, and played with the sound feature/location settings. ANC/world off, SYNC, and Focus work perfectly and I can hear the difference. You can toggle focus, world off, etc from the earbuds touch controls. These helped me head speech clearer, and my tinnitus isn't really perceivable with them on..I think the bit of white noise from the filtered audio helped mask it. It's such a relief..The only con I can think of is that I wish there were extra slots for touch controls (i.e. you can pick focus toggle or change location type, but you can't have both..they have a dedicated slot that allows them.)I'm not sure if this is the newest version of the ear cups though; videos mentioned a little hole having been added to prevent the ear plug effect when you speak. At least, as I understood it.Fit: they actually lock decently into the shape of the ear; I can shake my head around without them loosening. They also have squishy shaped ear cups in addition to the rubber ones-----------------------TLDR: they work for people who test mostly normal on audiology tests but have trouble filtering speech, and help reduce excessively loud high or low end sound based on your preferences. They mask my tinnitus..but your mileage may vary (they're not designed to to that). These probably will not work for someone specifically looking for sound amplification; there's a volume level, but it doesn't go very loud.
