Kaytee Forti-Diet Pro Health Pet Parrot Bird Food, 8 Pound

This product has a lot of seed but it also is packed with vitamins and minerals. My parrots love it.

My Goffin Cockatoo uses his seed more to stick in his down feathers than he does eating it. Most of the time in the early morning he cracks his seeds and rats them, but then by the time I'm up he's done. Then he waits to see a person eating, or us feeding the dogs, and his does his version of begging, which involves blood curdling screams.He doesn't really like large pieces, like nuts or whole dried fruits, but he eats the small seeds in this mix. I have a mid-sized parrot (a Lesser Jardines), and, like most parrot-owners, I supplement her diet with a selection of soft and (hopefully) nutritious foods, but provide a seed mixture and treats as well that she can access throughout the day. I've experimented in the early years with different mixes, and the proportions of the nuts and seeds in this mix are just right for her. Lighter on sunflower seeds than other mixes, this mix is tasty and varied enough to keep her interest. Although it has cereal bits and pellets in it as well, I still prefer to add a little portion of  Zupreem Fruit Blend Diet for Medium Birds, 2-Pound  each day, for the all-important color factor. In fact, more bright color is really the only thing missing from Kaytee Forti Diet Pro Health. It doesn't seem to stop her from eating it, though, so it's not a big deal.

Although this has filler that my macaw won’t eat, it has quite a few ingredients to provide a good base at a good price. I add some fresh foods and more peanuts daily and she does well on this.I don’t know if it arrives with moths or where they come from, but this always gets infested before completing the bag. Even if I transfer after receiving it sealed bag, it will get the moths. I have this issue with anything with seeds so I’m not docking stars.This 5 lb bag lasts me a good month or more for a green wing. I can’t find much else that I can feed her for well under $10 Per month.

My Macaws won't eat anything else.

I’m looking for another brand, I’m tired dealing with the larva & black moths that be in every bag I’ve ordered. I’d have to say it’s not fresh at all. UPDATE 5/22/22 I’ve searched for other reviews on this bird food and found that if you put the 25lb bag in the freezer for a week before opening it, the bugs will die. So that’s what I do and it works. No more flying moths around the house. Thanks for the person that shared the cure to this problem.

Product just as described so did not give fewer stars because of packaging issues. Box was not well taped across top and am amazed that small item included in same shipment did not fall out. There was no packing material and there was a small slit in the bag containing the seed and a few seeds loose in box. There may have been more lost since there was a small hole in each corner of the box, one being just over 3/8 by 1/4 in. There could not have been too many seeds spilled but the fact that the product was no longer sealed was not a good thing.

I am very pleased with this purchase.My parrot loves it.

My parrot ate it and seem to like it, I thought the mix would be better than what I saw.So I will have to update this review eventually and see if the mix is good or excellent, I had many nutrients from packs I buy for myself to the mix, and I have added cashews and other nuts.

I have a fussy African Grey. I’ve tried all kinds of seed this is a winner. He doesn’t waste too much of this brand

My birds love this stuff, but I couldn't get it at the local pet stores anymore. Fortunately, I found it here and it's even a better price then when the pet stores had it.

My love bird eats loves sunflower and safflower in but hates the peanuts.It's okay. She is a picky one :-)
