ColumbiaMen's Silver Ridge Convertible Pant

I’m almost 6’7” and weigh 215. Thin guy and these pants fit great. Nicer than the other 36” zip away pants on Amazon, I tried both.

Had to have my wife reinforce the pockets (netting only) and put elastic in waistband. Other than that, the quality is good.

I am extremely happy with these pants. This is my first experience with them. They were perfect size, very comfortable and not too hot or cool. I purchased these for fishing and found the zip off legs to work well getting them off and back on. I took a treble hook to the leg through the pants below the knee. The convenience of zipping off the lower leg was great. Once I got the hook out of my leg then I had to get it out of the pant fabric. I am pleasantly surprised I didn’t rip a hole in the fabric. The photo shows the damage and the blood washed out as well. A second pair is in my future along with a first aid kit.

Unfortunately, these Columbia zip-off pants don't fit the same from pair to pair so it took some effort to get a pair with the right fit. However, once we got it, they're terrific pants! The zip-off feature is great, although it'd be even nicer if there were a zipper at the bottom of the legs so you didn't have to remove your boots/ shoes to get them off. The 36" inseam really is 36", which is great for my son who's got really long legs! The pants come with a belt so the waist being a little loose really wasn't an issue. The pants wash well and dry in no time hanging on a hanger or any random place. Several in our family own these pants (women's and men's sizes) and we all love them.

I went through several pairs of other similar type pants before spending the extra money on Columbia. I got 2 pairs to rotate with when I go on my backpacking trips. I’ve used them each about a total of 4 trips so far, each only about 2-3 nights. My 2 biggest issues is that they are very tight in the crotch area, I feel like if I squat to hard or step up to high, they’ll split. Could be solved with going a size larger than what I normally wear, but I’m hesitant to spend more money on them. My 2nd big issue is that both back pockets have holes in the mesh, so they are now unusable. I assume it’s from the washing machine, but I’ve only washed them about 4 times, so that’s disappointing quality for me. In my opinion, the Columbia quality of these type of pants are really not much better than the off brands I’ve tried, so there’s not need to spend almost double the price.
