Don't buy this for your C5!
This is a common part that fails in the C5 corvette. The turn signals for the car run through this switch, so when the part fails, your turn signals no longer work. This problem happened to me, so I purchased this item to fix the problem. This part is very difficult and stubborn to install. Still I was able to get the part installed and it fixed my problem.....for about 6 months.....until the new part failed, once again leaving me with no turn signals.I tried to take the manufacturer up on the warranty for this item. Dorman then sent me to Amazon customer service, who demanded that I send them the defective part. In most cases that is a reasonable request, but not in the case of an item installed in the dash that will take 3 hours to remove (and you have to physically break the item to remove it anyway). So basically their "warranty" on this item is a crap shoot.Advice to others, don't buy this part; instead purchase the "hyperflash" unit that bypasses this switch. It is a little more expensive but will only take 30 minutes to install and it doesn't have a history of repeated failures.

Poor cold weather performance, not very loud
I purchased this hazard switch for my 2004 Chevrolet Corvette whose turn signal refused to blink unless I toggled the hazard switch multiple times. This switch controls all blinking light functions, including the turn signal. I procrastinated installing it until ~2017; the install is very difficult, requiring removal of the dash (there are instructions to replace the switch without removing the dash floating around on the Internet). Once installed, my turn signal worked again, but the "blinker" noise is a lot quieter than the stock unit. Also this winter (2018) I noticed that when the vehicle is cold (< 45 F) the turn signal light sticks on until it warms up. I will drive for several minutes with the left turn signal solid on until (presumably) the current through the switch warms it enough that it starts oscillating. The only other recent electrical change was the addition of LED headlights, but the turn signal still worked during warmer months. Dreading replacing it again, but if I do I'll get an LED-friendly switch.[UPDATE 2019/02/14] The hazard switch finally locked up this morning (~30 deg. F). I had been pressing the hazard switch to blink my hazard lights (which still worked in cold weather even though the turn signal sticks on) for a while before using my turn signal. This seemed to get the turn signal blinking faster. This morning I pressed the hazard switch and it would not disengage no matter how many times or how hard I pressed the button. I pulled over, pried the button face off and fiddled with the switch - nothing. Finally wound up pressing so hard that I pressed the switch into the dash, still blinking the hazard lights. Turned the car around in the subdivision and headed home to get some needlenose pliers which disengaged the switch (I think... maybe it coincidentally disengaged on its own). I now have no working hazard switch, a turn signal blinker which sticks in cold weather, and few options to replace the switch without resorting to this model. Docking a star.

Failing after 3months...
It is painful to install as you may find on YouTube.Unfortunately after 3 months it behaves like the original after 19years.... which is it gets stuck and the blinker disfunction. This is frustrating because it is quite engaging to uninstall, and you can't do it to exchange to get a new one. It is clearly non qualitative experience, which seems to be repeatable from the others experience.I will contact the vendor but I have little hope since it seems the quality is inconsistent.

Perfect fit for a C 5 .
The reason for the 1 star on Easy to Install is because of all of what has to be removed from the inside of your car and then it is still difficult to get to. YouTube video's make it look easy but don't be fooled. It is not. The part is a perfect fit and cleared my problem up with my signals not working all of the time. Don't pay a mechanic to do this unless you can afford an extra $100 labor.
