So, thanks to the other reviews I knew I was in for it with the sound... Before I even showed my son it existed, I stuffed some paper on the speaker and used black duct tape to hold it. It makes the sounds much more tolerable. I don't think it's very accurate, but it is sensitive and goes off all the time so he's happy as a lil lark. Most of our treasures have been 'planted' for him to find and we'll take it to the beach.

Had one when I was a kid.
Bought this for my daughter's birthday.She's been taking out everytime we go somewhere like the park and has her nose in the dirt the whole time.I did the same as a kid and now she gets to.The possibility of finding... Anything is exciting!!

Huge Success
The Grandkids love it.We threw change in the backyard and let them find it.Later that day they wanted to bust up the driveway, because it picked up the wire mesh... and they were sure treasure was under there. Lol

Makes for a great day of fun!
I bought this for my grandson as I have one and we would share mine. I got this for him and wow was he surprised & thrilled. We went out the next day. We didn't find a lot, a few coins, a nail, but he was so excited. It is so easy for a young person to use, he is 9 and will keep until he's a teen. Very user friendly. In fact I used his sometime instead of mine. Great price for the Detector that came along with a bag and digging tools. I told him he didn't have to wear/bring the bag, but he insisted. So cute!!Great way to spend a day with a child. Get them out there moving and discovering!! Thanks, Barbie (Grams).

Great gift!
This was bought for my grandson, and was not on his list of birthday wishes.What a hit this was!And as he told me, “ This was the bomb of a gift!”He loves this, and it works too!His hopes of finding treasures.Great gift idea indeed!
