For several months, I had been looking for a Buddha that was just right for me. It was one of those things that you will just know when you see it. After looking around online and reading reviews, being overly picky as always, the Medicine Buddha really grabbed me. I put him in my “wish list” for a while wanting to know if I looked again in a few weeks if this particular figurine would still have a hold on me. The Medicine Buddha did.This purchase was to celebrate the year anniversary of having surgery on my spine. The healing road has been tough. I find that meditation has helped and The Medicine Buddha is a perfect addition to my medical adventures.I’ve included a few photos to share how incredibly beautiful the colors are and how intricate the detail is on this work of art. My Medicine Buddha is simply stunning and I would buy this as a gift for family and friends! There are more poses in this line that are available, so I feel a collection coming on!The measurements included in my photo are 4 ½ inches long (along the flat base), 6 inches tall (from bottom most point of base to top most point), and it’s 3 inches wide (measuring along the thickest part of the FLAT base). I should mention that the bottom has a very soft fabric so there is no worry about scratching any furniture.The Medicine Buddha has significance and meaning. The hand gesture, posture and even color has deep meaning. The plant that the Medicine Buddha is holding is the myrobalan fruit. This plant represents all of the best medicines in the world. The Medicine Buddha’s right hand gesture represents and symbolizes the eradication of suffering. Especially the suffering of sickness using the means of relative truth. The Medicine Buddha’s left hand gesture, while resting in his lap, palm upward symbolizes meditative stability. You can clearly see how intricate these details are and how important they're represented accurately in this particular Buddha.I am very pleased with this product, the delivery, the packaging, and would highly recommend it to everyone!

Endlessly I prostrate.

The first Healing Buddha I received from this seller had a severed right forefinger which the factory had overpainted. I returned it, and received a replacement that revealed a golden bowl with lacquer flaking off in a visible area. I was tired of returning the item, so applied a drop of bronze lacquer to the spot and buffed it. This shouldn't have been necessary for an item which is made of mass-produced resin, fiished with a computerized paint application. At this rice, I didn't expect perfection. Neither did I expect two problems in a row.Many people who order desktop statues of the Buddha do so because they take Buddhist philosophy or obervance seriously. Some use statues as part of their meditation practice. The manufacturer might have produced a smaller item with less mass, but finished it more carefully. They might have done a more respectful job.Had I returned my second statue, I would have probably received a third with another problem. I kept this one because of the features the original artist rendered in his or her origina cast. It is an attractive little Buddha, but there is a chance you might have to touch-up his finish or return your purchase because of an obvious defect.Disappointed.

I bought this statue to make a little shrine on an outdoor balcony. I thought it would be appropriate for outdoor use because it is made of resin (and I don't care about colors fading). But this is a *really nice* little statue, solid, weighty, well-painted, and it doesn't feel cheap or plastic-ky at all. It also has a layer of felt on the bottom (I guess to keep it from scratching furniture), and I realized that even if I don't care about the resin statue getting rained on, the felt bottom will get soggy and yucky if left outdoors. So although I intended to leave it outdoors permanently in the little shrine spot I created for it (ha, on an upturned terra cotta saucer), I brought it in at the first thunderstorm, and I realize I will keep it indoors and simply carry it outside when I need it for meditation on the balcony. :)Bottom line: Consider the felt bottom. And this statue is really high quality and much nicer than you expect--trust me!

This is a very beautiful healing statue. It is an object of healing if you believe in gazing on an object as a contemplative practice or meditation. This type of meditation has been written about in several books. In fact the book boundless healing by a Tibetan Buddhist teacher has discussed this several times and sees it as a loving kindness meditation. This is a way to train the mind to tap into its own healing power. I do a mini meditation every few hours for 5 minutes and 60 to70 percent of the time there is definite good change of mind.The author just cited says any picture , icon or statue from any of the religions will do as long as the person sees meaning in the object. This is not an idol or a god worship. I see it as an object of beauty and healing if the person sees the object or icon as exactly that. Hope this helps the reader.

I got this product and it is a really nice item to have. I am happy that I got it and like the quality of it. On the basis of the product "alone" I would highly recommend it to anyone. That said the shipping was a disaster and the company didn't care, it was stated that it would be shipped to me within 7-10 days and it ended up being a month!Watch the shipping terms very closely otherwise you may end up getting your item shipped on a slow boat to where ever you live for over $22 dollars shipping fee's.

Love this Buddha! While it's smaller than I anticipated, the detail is impeccable, and it's exactly what I was looking for! Shipping was very fast and arrived in perfect condition! Very pleased overall and will order from this seller again!
