Excellent gear for any high dust/debris job
For years I used the half face 3M respirator when doing diy stuff around the house that created a lot of dust or fumes (like sanding drywall, stripping walls, etc). I also wore eye protection but could never find any eye-pro that wouldn't fog up quickly. Finally decided to upgrade to this full face rig and I am loving every minute of it! Doesn't fog AT ALL (which is amazing, as I have never had glasses or mask that didn't fog up before this). That alone makes it more than worth the price for me. On top of that, don't have to wear separate eye-pro, and the profile is actually such that I can still wear a sweat band, which fits nicely over my forehead just above the top seal of the mask. Visor is great, and it even comes with a free sample of the clear stick on protector film you can put on the visor to avoid scratches. Straps are quality silicon, as opposed to the cheap elastic bands that come on a lot of half face options. Very easy to get a nice snug fit that's also comfortable. Very easy to get a good seal, even without a clean shave. Tons of filter options obviously, and very easy to swap filters out in seconds. If you're on the fence because of the price, just go for it, but maybe buy a few of the clear stick on visor protectors to avoid damage to the visor. You'll never need another mask. Very very satisfied with this purchase, and my eyes and lungs are so much happier because of it. If you're a diy homeowner or work around a lot of dust or debris regularly, this thing is simply awesome.

Beards, PAPR, & replaceable shields
I needed something to keep insulation dust out of my eyes and lungs while working in the attic. This fit the bill. Had initially tried wearing a dust mask in the attic, but it was too difficult to breath. So I bought this.Mine came with a free sample of a replaceable film that sticks to the outside of the lens. This prevents the actual respirator lens from getting scratched up. Really like that idea. A respirator is too big of an investment to have to replace simply because of scratches. Scratched up safety glasses can actually be dangerous when it impairs visibility. Kudos to 3M for thinking of this. The full face shield has good visibility. Overall the fit and comfort is good. The straps tighten easily and hold it in place securely. I feel like it's something I could wear for extended periods of time without it being a nuisance. Unlike a dust mask which I pulled off after only a few seconds and used my shirt instead. Have only used the respirator for about 20 minutes so far, but have a lot more work to do. If I have issues, I'll update later.Technically respirators aren't recommended to be worn with facial hair, because the hair creates a leak path. So I can't speak to the fit and seal under normal conditions. It seams to work well considering how I'm using it, with a full beard. The rest of this review is how I dealt with that.To make it easier to breathe and prevent leaking around my beard, I made a primitive positive air pressure system. Mounted a small fan inline with each filter using 3D printed adapters. It is powered by a drill battery in my pocket. Only plan on using in situations where a dust mask would be sufficient protection. I suspect that any kind of hazardous / flammable gas or smaller particulate could potentially be dangerous, since I don't have a perfect seal.Without the fans, it was easy enough to breath but a little humid in the respirator. But that could be due to not having a good inner seal because of the beard. And had to be careful to keep my beard from getting caught when tightening the lower straps. But that's my own fault.Have used for about 20 minutes working with insulation in the attic. So far so good. Didn't see any dust in the mask when I got done.

it works really well and does not obstruct vision
Turns out very im allergic to wood dust. Your eyes get red, nose starts to run and coughing its not fun. This mask does an excellent job at keeping out dust and wood partials out of the eyes. The inner gasket around the mask keeps the mask from fogging. It does a perfect job.The mask straps do become loose if you talk with it on so always check to make sure its tight so the seal does not break. If the seal does break you immediately know and that has happened twice. Its a good idea to check if any saw dust partials or dust got in the mask before putting it on, blow it with compressed air and wipe the inside/outside with a wet paper towel and wipe the gasket seal. Take it off at least once every 30 minutes and inspect for partials and dust then wipe/blow it down and let it dry before putting it back on.The dual filters have little to no resistance when breathing, i found that when working you can forget you got it on it fits so well.

YES! It does exactly what it's supposed to.
I'm really, really pleased with this respirator. I dipped a toe in the woodworking/carpentry world about 5 yrs ago, as a way to obtain small things I wanted but couldn't afford.I have asthma, but this hobby didn't pick up until summer 2019, when I stupidly decided to "restore" a wardrobe trunk my mom had had rotting in her basement for eons. SO. MUCH. SANDING! At the same time, I took on remodeling my mom's bedroom, where I volunteered to scrape the ceiling. In nothing but a regular mask.....yeah....My lungs hurt SO. Bad. For weeks. So, I started looking at respirators, and doing research made me realize:My lungs were also sore and my allergies flared anytime I used stain, sealer, paint - and I also remembered I occasionally want to use spray paint.AndI can't believe what sensitive babies my lungs are! I've had a lot of really, really sucky lung ailments throughout my life but this tenderness was constant, and it hurt to take deep breaths.I nixed partial respirators because by then, I was BEYOND aggravated with my protective eye-gear fogging up with a mask.I didn't realize this didn't come with filters until I got it. I suspected, but I guess I didn't read the fine print. I also didn't consider size, because I had no idea I had even ordered an XL until I got it! I will say, however, I'm glad I got the XL because I have long hair, and if I wear a bun, or tuck my braid, it's bulky. I also wear fabric over my hair, with everything tucked in, to keep saw dust out. I've tightened the straps over my bun before and the pain becomes pulsating and excruciating after a bit. I've learned how to place the straps and my hairstyle to avoid that, but idk if a smaller size would have the same amount of space in the back as the XL does. Also, a lot rides on which filters you get. I got the ones that were recommended, because I really had no clue what I needed. My first time wearing it involved spray painting. I observed how my lungs felt over the next couple days and everything was normal. When it came to cutting wood and sanding, this was where it really sank in how worth it this purchase had been. I don't give a damn what I look like to my neighbors (and I have super snoopy ones, too) -I can sit outside and sand for hours and hours, cut wood and get my face super close to watch my cut without debris flying into my eye or inhaling dust. Also, since getting this, I've noticed when I do a quick cut, like with my jigsaw or cordless saw, the tenderness in my lungs is almost instant. Wearing this has made me aware that I HAVE to wear it EVERY TIME, even if it's a quick, small cut. Also, I keep it on throughout cleanup, putting things away, brushing myself off, etc. I wear clothes under my overalls so I can take them off outside and shake them out. I don't take the respirator off until I'm ALL done disturbing sawdust. Too many times I've thought it wouldn't be a big deal, but it IS. Every time. Even when I drill pocket holes, I wear my respirator! Yesterday, it was 95 degrees, and I live in the Midwest so weather here is literally ALL variations. I was sweating SO bad but I put that damn respirator on each and every time I made a cut.I will add a tip about winter. You have to put it on before you go outside, because it fogs up from the cold and doesn't go away even after you put it on.Cleaning it is suuuuper easy. I take the filters off and the central part for your nose and mouth, and just rinse everything (not the filters, obviously). I've dropped it a million times or it's fallen out of my work bag, and there are no cracks whatsoever. There might be a couple minor scratches on the outside, but I'm pretty rough with mine. It works fantastically and it's still goin strong 8 months later. Definitely worth the buy, which you won't truly appreciate until you use it.

I purchased a large size overall great mask
Originally purchased two of these the first one I used all the time when I was doing carpentry perfect for sanding drywall ended up losing that one so I got another one and I currently use that one for landscaping perfect for big sediment jobs where debris likes to get under your glasses and you don't feel like smelling exhaust fumes all day
