Q: Could these be worn by adults?

Yes, they fit my 5 year old and myself fine. I have a large head for a female so they should fit most adults comfortably. They aren't very durable though, so I would store them inside of a bag or some kind of protective case.

Q: is this item durable enough for a 9 years old kid?

I bought these for my nine year old. They seen to be holding up pretty well. My husband also has bought a pair for my nephew and they are holding up as well.
