OMGoodness!! DeWalt does it again!
For decades now I've used Dewalt tools. Yup, I still have my first, and trusty, perfectly functioning 14.4v drill. :-)Recently, I found myself needing a sander for around the house projects.Don't ask me why but I didn't want to go with the 20V cordless sander, although I already have the Drill, and two batteries. Nope, the old nut bar was set on a corded sander.Okay so, it's been a long while since I used one, and yeah, it's a groaner, but I read the directions before anything else.Glad I did. This little sander is really nifty (do people still say nifty these days), it really is.I like that I can use full size sheets of sand paper and 1/4 them to fit this unit.Second, how cool is it that they provided a square plastic block to perforate the paper after you clip it in place.Doesn't matter what orientation you use the plastic block, it works from all directions.Third, I love that little catch bag on there. It is good at getting a pretty fair amount of the dust. Does it get all the dust? No, but at this price point, what sander does? Not a deal breaker. The sander is robust, that little motor gets after it, for sure, and it's not nearly as noisy as I thought it would be.The unit is also pretty comfortable to work with. It fits my hands well, and I didn't notice much, if any fatigue after sanding down a large main wall. The results were excellent.Nope, I'm not a home remodel Pro, but now I can play one on TV.If this sander is anything like the other DeWalt tools I have, I would expect a lot of dependable use in the years to come.

Perfect for sanding my deck & deck furniture
I love DeWalt tools and this little sander is great. Super easy to operate, sandpaper is held snugly by the two ‘arms’. Don’t forget to perforate the sandpaper before using. The little dust catcher holds a lot and is easy to remove, didn’t use the sander with a shop vac or dust collection system. Not super noisy either. Fits the palm of my hand nicely. Does not come with a tote bag which was not a deal breaker. .Very pleased with this sander.

Great Sander
Buy This Sander.Although it could be more robust and it definitely needs a longer cord, this is a wonderful sander. I really need a pro model of this sander as I've burned though two of them and ordered a third. I keep ordering new ones as I push them to their limits and beyond. I've put a LOT of hours on this sander, and for the cost, it has held up well under heavy use.The square sanding area is perfect for getting into corners. I use my sander primarily for dry sanding drywall. Attaching a 100 grit paper on the sander takes down high points easily and makes for smooth surfaces. A quarter sheet of sandpaper fits nicely in this sander, and it's very easy to load the paper.I also really like the design. I have large hands, yet this sander feels good and I can keep a comfortable grip on it for hours on end. The cord placement is also well engineered as it has never gotten in my way. Definitely wear ear protecting while using this sander as it is LOUD!The motor gave out on the first one after 400 hours of use, after about the same number of hours the motor on the second one is about to gasp its last breath. So, I ordered a third as it a good ROI (Return On Investment). The photos show the wear and tear on the second unit. The metal on the clamp has broken and the pad needs re-engineered. When it gets hot the material becomes sticky, and it's near impossible to get sandpaper off of it.It really could benefit from a 10 foot long cord. When I'm sanding on a ceiling the plug keeps hitting the platform I'm standing on, and it unplugs itself. Yeah, I've tied knots in the cord connection, but that's a trip hazard.

Great Sander
Most reviews on here complain about the dust from sanding doesn't go into the bag. If you use the square black plastic piece with the sharp nubs and place it on the sand paper once on place on the sander but not locked down, press down and it created the holes in the sandpaper to vacuum the sand into the little bag. There are holes on the plate of the sander. You may need to use an ice pick to enlarge the holes in the sandpaper. Keep the sander cleaned out and it will vacuum into the bag. I've been using on kitchen cabinets, bathroom cabinets and vanity. It's perfect for the jobs I'm doing. Easy to hold not heavy and easy to install the sandpaper. Love this, make it easy to sand and your hands don't become tired.

no swirl marks
nice little sander, doesn't leave swirl marks as some do. good sized motor, decent power - but not too strong as to make my hand go numb as other hand held sanders have done.

Good Paper Clamps
Have used 4-5 pcs of paper so far. Clamps are easy to use, weight, sound, and vibration are normal for this type sander, dust collection works fairly well if paper is punched with included paper punch.
