Powerextra 2 Pack Battery and Charger for Olympus BLN-1, BCN-1 and Olympus OM-D E-M1, Olympus Pen F, OM-D E-M5, Pen E-P5, OM-D E-M5 Mark II

I got this as backup batteries for my Olympus Pen E-P5 camera. They've worked fairly well for the past three years, but they rarely give me more than 200 shots per charge instead of the expected 300+. The included charger is conveniently small, but seems to take several hours to charge up each battery. Not a big deal because I always have at least 3 batteries to rotate. I read in another review that these replacement batteries would eventually swell in size, but mine have remained fine so far. A decent charger plus two batteries for a decent price.

Works well and reliably, but the batteries have a disturbing characteristic. They don't last quite as long as the OEM units, and they move from showing full charge to partial to dead in a very rapid drop. The OEM batteries give a much more gradual drop with more warning. Not a big problem on land, but I use these in an underwater camera!

For several years I have been using these batteries in my Olympus OM-D E-M1 and prefer my Powerextra charger over the one that Olympus supplied with my camera. My wife also has Powerextra batteries and the charger for her Olympus PEN E-PL8 and likes them. When one of my Powerextra batteries had swollen slightly, the seller promptly replaced it without charge.During our RV travels throughout the USA and parts of Canada, while away from plug-in power sources, we like being able to charge our camera batteries from our motorhome's 12-volt sockets. Traveling internationally the chargers work for us just fine, with plug adapters, on the foreign voltages.Best of all, while we get very good life out of the batteries, they cost a small fraction of the Olympus brand.

The charger is compact and convenient, and seems to charge the batteries faster than the charger I received from Olympus with my OMD. The batteries work flawlessly in my camera, and seem to hold a good charge. I haven't yet had the chance to test how long they last, but I expect to be pleased with them.

I purchased this in September of last year. One of the two batteries died within one week of purchase. The second battery lasted between 2 and 3 months, then would not take a charge at all. Either these batteries are junk, or there is a serious quality control issue.

I've had this about a month and everything works well. The charger has no cord so it is smaller and easier to pack in my bag than the Olympus original and it seems to work well charging the original Olympus battery. The batteries seem to work as well as the original. Of course all of this could change if there are difficulties down the road.

The batteries seemed to last a shorter period of time than the OEM Olympus batteries. But, they were cheap and for the most part worked great. Recently, one of the two batteries became swollen and no longer usable because it couldn't fit into the camera anymore.

I ordered these mainly because I had lost the charger for my OEM battery. I figured I'd get a charger and a couple of extra batteries.*My original review is below. I had problems with my batteries being faulty but the seller responded very quickly and sent me a brand new set of batteries. These new ones are identical to the ones I ordered but they seem to be working just fine. Ver pleased with the speedy customer service from the seller making this right. I have since updated this to a four star rating*The charger is fine - works just like the OEM charger.The included aftermarket batteries, however, are extremely poor quality. One of them refuses to hold a charge only a few months later (purchased in April 2021 it's now January 2022). It will take a charge, and within 10 minutes the camera will shut down due to low battery.The other battery puffed up like a bad LiPo battery the first time it was charged. It puffed so badly that it wouldn't fit into the camera's battery slot. So, I'm not sure if it even is holding a charge or not. I'm lucky it didn't catch fire since a puffed up LiPo is a serious fire risk.Overall not super happy with the batteries.The charger is ok.I'd recommend going with OEM replacement batteries or maybe trying a different aftermarket brand though.
