Easy installation. Compatible replacement for existing fixture

I had an issue with the remote that came with the fan, so replaced it with this. Install was pretty straightforward. Not ideal that it requires batteries.

My ceiling fan is old but works well. However one of my friends stabbed the wall switch with a dagger like index finger, breaking it…not the finger!The first wall switch did not work. Neither did the second nor the third. All were “universal”. The fourth switch worked with the installation of a new receiver.I have reviewed this switch in the past and hated it then and I hate it now. (The Hunter Fan customer service told me to purchase it.).The icon indicating the on/off light switch is not raised so, in the dark, there is no way to find the button. You just push here and there. I jerryrigged a solution so it’s not a problem but it’s obvious that the design is flawed. Since this was my fourth choice, you can see thatI only bought this switch as a last ditch effort.

Do not buy this product. When the battery on the panel dies, you’ve got to practically reinstall the whole thing all over again - turn off the breaker, unscrew it, add batteries, screw it back in. A wall switch shouldn’t work like that, and it ought to be powered by the house’s power. Terrible, terrible design flaw.

It is easy to install and use. The functions are very intuitive. It is attractive with easy to see graphics. To make it easier to find the light switch in the dark I added a silicone hemispherical cabinet door bumper on top of the light on/off button. This switch provides an easy to use light dimming function and 3-speed fan control. A nice feature: The control seems to remember the fan speed or dimming last used and will return to that setting when the light or fan are turned back on. The control also provides a power switch that can control the 120VAC circuit to the fan and the remote control circuit. The only negative: you must take off the trim plate and remove the remote from the electrical box to change the remote’s batteries. I suspect they will have a fairly long life. I think it would also be possible to use this system with two remotes if desired. Just make sure they both have the same code, and don’t wire the 120VAC switch in the 2nd remote. I could be wrong about this and Hunter doesn’t talk about it, but it would seem possible.

EASY to install!! This unit works great on a no-name brand ceiling fan with LED light. It dims the light, controls the speed of the fan. It has a one touch mode where you can go straight to the bright setting on the light or high speed on the fan and vice versa to the low...

Much better than other similar devices

This switch / remote solved my problem! I wanted to control fan speed and light dimming level from the wall switch. After a lot of searching this was the ONLY switch I found that said it would work with only one load wire going from the switch to the fan. This switch has a remote module that is mounted inside the fan cowling the accepts that single AC wire providing power. And the remote module then provides the requested power to both the fan motor and the lights separately. This works well and I am very happy with it.But it does have two things I wish were different.First is that the wall switch requires two AAA batteries. When the batteries wear out, I’ll have to open the switchbox, unscrew the switch and pull the switch away from the wall enough to replace the batteries. This is far from ideal, but acceptable to avoid hiring an electrician to run new wiring from the switch to the fan.Second is that I wish the switch had an indicator light illuminating the buttons enough to see them in the dark. There are several buttons on this thing, and it would help to be able to see them in a dark room.Finally, I must give Hunter credit providing a good option to avoid an expensive electrician bill.Thank guys!

Took way too long to arrive, over 3 weeks.

It says will work with most, but it really needs to give criteria about what will make it work or not. By the time I got someone out to try to install it and found out it didn't work, I'd missed the return window.
