Best value and alternative to kathoulas
Tested these today in Edmonton Winter weather on the trails in our River valley wilderness trails! They were awesome and I was able to put these to through it all ... steep hills (goat/single track trails) up and down no problems and great grip ... careful on roads not really meant for it but we’re solid. Easy to put on and off. Compared with Kathoulas these were more robust and way more teeth! Great value for price. Also ran up and down many wooden stairs no problem grip was great. Really put confidence in my Trail running here in subzero Celsius weather with snow on the ground. Teeth were aggressive and legitimate grip. Ran 8.13kms ... 1.5 hours in the snow and cold. Recommended it to the Edmonton Trail Runners for a great cost effective alternative to the market dominate kathoulas which only had better eye socket guards the rest these were much better in every category with side to side comparison which we did post run. You won’t regret it. Also came quickly! Recommendation to the company add eye socket reenforcements and carry pouch for when you have to pocket them on the Trail ... not going to carry the box when I take them off for road running.

Emergency 'must have'
Well made, arrived quickly. I put these on my size 10.5 Columbia Titanium boots without problem. I'm not a hiker but I plan to keep these for emergencies as I am a 68 year old senior living in Canada and slipping on ice is not an option. How many times have I seen people out there trying to push a car in the snow with your little feet slipping as fast as the tires are spinning. Get some of these and your problems should come to an end as far as your feet go and you might wanna get some chains for your tires as well. I'm a year round cyclist and curious to see if I can wear these when mountain biking in the snow this winter. I have metal pedals so they might work. Many times l have to carry the bike across snow drifts or icy patches and trying to pull a bike with supplies attached and a heavy back pack is slippery. The bag has a belt loop which is convenient to carry (good stitching) should you be walking through the woods and come across a polar bear or two. Put these on and you might just be able to out run them and finally catch one this time. Crazy Canadians eh! Make sure you dry them well after use. They should give a discount for people who buy multiple pairs especially if you have a family and you want to get one for each member

Durable and effective
I've had these for 4 years now. I always have them nearby in the winter. Showing no signs of wear and I use them heavily for hikes. You can sprint on ice with these bad boys. Great product. Sad to see the price increase so much since the time I got it though.

really good pair of spikes with great traction.
my partner's shoe size is 1/2 size smaller than what they recommend (women's size 6-1/2). Yes there is a bit of slack in the chains but it still worked perfectly fine on fresh dry powder, wet heavy snow, wind blown crusted snow to thick ice (temp from around 32F down to 5F: soft ice with sheet of water on top to hard ice). She really loves them. Gave her sense of security in walking on these conditions. She also likes the fact that it is pretty easy to put on and take off her boots even with heavy winter gloves on.The other thing is that even though the chains were tad slack, there was very little snow/ice build up on the chains and soles of her boots (unlike mine). We use them on our farm. Would feel comfortable to go on a hike with these. BTW, these are not to be used for ice climbing or for use as mountaineering use. So don't substitute.Don't wear them on dry concrete or indoors!! Someone gave 1 star on similar product because it marred their fine wood floor.Lastly, don't try to spin on the ball of your feet because this will lock your feet onto the ground.

Wicked anti-slip ice grips
These are the most effective anti-slip footwear add-ins I have ever used. And they won't fall off. They are a bit of a challenge to get on but the effort is worth it if you regularly find yourself walking across slippery surfaces. Should you have to walk on ice, especially light snow covered ice, these grips give you the footing you need. You could walk up an icy slope without losing traction. These grips are rather sharp and are recommended only for walking outside. If they are affixed to your footwear before a drive expect to feel the spikes sink into your clutch and brake pedals. For the outdoor fashion conscious everyone will hear and see you coming as they stand out with their bright colour and the sound of the spikes piercing into ice underfoot can be heard at a great distance.
