Heard company was going out of business so purchased one as backup. Great product

I have bought two of these, and both stopped working after one year of use. I will not be buying a third, even though I liked the iron because that’s an expensive purchase to have to make every year. I will find another manufacturer.

I’m obsessed with this product and keep telling and showing all my girlfriends how they need this in their beauty tool kit! With a learning curve ( I watch a YouTube video when I need a refresher on the correct way to hold it) I get the perfect beach wave curls. I have fine stick straight blonde hair that won’t hold a curl for anything…I’m 41…this has changed my life! My dreams of having curly/wavy hair have finally come true. My advice, have patience and allow yourself to find a rhythm with the Tyme iron!!

I tried one of these a couple of years ago and didn't like it. I have gotten more tool savvy, so I thought I would give it another try. Also, the company is closing, so they will be hard to find eventually. As soon as I used it the first time I remembered why I did not like it last time. I am going to do the cons first since there are more of them.Cons:1. There is a steep learning curve. Once you get the hang of it everything is fine. I just don't love a tool that requires me to watch many YouTube videos to figure it out. I am curling my hair, not launching a rocket. They offer live help, but that is also more than I am comfortable doing to curl my hair.2. There are no heat settings, so you only get super hot. My hair smells a little burned because see number 1 above. While you are "figuring it out" it takes longer to do and you are doing some pieces twice.3. It rips out a few hairs on every pass. At first I thought maybe I was getting my hair too close to the bottom, but that was not it. I followed the instructions and used a thin, flat section that I even brushed out before using the tool.4. I am not impressed with the curls it produces or how long they last. I went slow, used thin sections and had a holding product in my hair. It is the end of the day and my hair is a hot mess. My $20 curling iron works better for long lasting curls and waves.Pros:1. The customer support is like nothing I have ever seen. They will set up a live appointment with you within 24 hours.2. In concept this is a cool idea for those of us who can't master using a flat iron for curls.3. The tool is pretty.This may be someone else's holy grail, but I have to admit it is just not for me.

Was a gift for my mom she loved it

I thought this was going to be a tool that would make styling easier. I think for some people it does. I've seen the videos, but for me it was a no-go. My hair felt dry and damaged after use, I kept thinking there was a learning curve, but I don't have months to learn how to properly use it. I'm going to get a nice curling iron instead. Full disclosure, I watched many of the videos, but did not utilize the one-on-one facetime training option.

Works as described yet the plates don't seem very smooth and feels like they are damaging my hair. Hard to tell but it doesn't feel right.

I was very excited about this product but after months of many trials I could not get it to straighten or curl my hair. I would spend your money on another product. This one needs some additional development.
