Mostly functional through app
I have had this light for months but I was never able to connect it to my wifi until I recently replaced my router. Hot tip: When the blue page says searching, tap the screen until you get a red circle. THEN it is sctually searching. I feel like a dummy. Now that I am able to connect it to the app, the functionality is MUCH better. You can set the motion detection and light brightness. It's great! Without the app though, it's a mystery if the motion detection is on or not. It is perfect for my 4 year old for when he gets out of bed to use the bathroom in the middle of the night. It doesn't wake his younger brother. Highly reccomend and now I want another!

App Required for Full Functionality
If you're in search of a customizable under-the-bed light, this device could be a suitable option for you. While the light offers ample visibility in dark rooms without being too bright, it requires you to download an app, which might be frustrating for some. The night light option can be turned on and off with a button on the device, but to change the color or brightness, you need the app. On the bright side, you can choose from a range of colors and brightness options. If you're already using the Safety First brand for your monitor, using the app may not be a big deal. However, if you're not keen on downloading another app, this device may not be the best option for you. In general, this under-the-bed light is customizable and provides ample visibility, but the app requirement may be a dealbreaker for some users.

Works well most of the time
I wish it did not require you to download an app in order to use it. I understand why but just wish there was another option like maybe a remote or something. I have it set to motion sensor and you have to be in close proximity for it to pick up on motion and turn on which isn't ideal when I want it to automatically kick on when I open the door to the room. I guess that's where the app comes into play as I can turn it on ahead of time before entering the room. Otherwise, this under-the-bed light works great and does what it says. It's bright enough to help with visibility in a dark room but not so bright that it will disturb the baby.

Good under the bed night light
This nightlight has been perfect for underneath my son's toddler bed. It is great because you can choose from numerous different colors and brightness options. It includes adhesive stickers to stick the nightlight under the crib/bed as well as adhesive clips to keep the cord out of the way. I do wish there was a less permanent way of installing this, so that it can be easily moved if needed. This nightlight can be turned on and off with a button on the device itself but to change the color or brightness can only be done through the Safety 1st app. The app itself was easy to set up, but I have had limited success with syncing the device with Alexa and the connection to the app is spotty when I have it in my kids' room. Even without using the app all of the time, my son really loves using the nightlight and it has worked really well for us and hopefully we can make the app work for us by putting the light in a different spot.

Works intermittent
It kind of works sometimes. I like this product when it works but is frustrating when it does not. It has some features that make zero sense. For example, you can’t just turn on the motion sensor to light always when sensing motion. You MUST select a “room brightness” setting too. What I wanted was a motion sensor for a dark spot under an upper cabinet to light whenever I went in the room, but I have to select “bright” room or “dark” room and it will only light when one or the other. This makes no sense if you want it to always light on motion (regardless of room ambient light)I think this product is good in theory but needs some fine tuning. Also on the app, all the adjustments should be visible from one screen, it’s way too busy and clunky of an app for a simple light.

Great motion light for CRIB/baby bed
First of all, I’m not sure why people are down-rating this when they are using it for things other than a baby bed motion light. That’s not exactly fair. This light works VERY WELL for what it’s intended. I do agree that it would be nice to have another way to operate it other than the app or to have it always on, but once you do set it up on the app, it works great. It has a wired piece that needs to go into the crib (or bassinet in our case) to pickup baby’s movements, which it does. It does also pick up your movement if you’re walking by, but the light isn’t so bright that it will wake up baby either. I also got the SafetyFirst baby cam so that I could use one app.Very good product!

Nice connected smart LED in Safety 1st system
So for what this is, a small LED light strip with a PIR motion sensor, it is a bit expensive. So what you're really paying for is the app connectivity for the smart controls. So, can you use this without the app? Sort of. When it starts up, it will be red in pairing mode. You have to wait for it to eventually turn white and then the button can toggle between motion/on/off. But without the app you cannot change the LED color or set other things like slow turn off. Also if it ever looses power, it will go back to pairing mode red LED and then just on. So no, I would not recommend using this without the app.So with the app, it is pretty nice. Pairing with the app is fairly easy, especially since it enters pairing mode when powered on (red LEDs). The app allows for a lot of controls, like changing the current state (on/off/motion), the color, configuring slow turn off, and more. It comes with a very long USB cord to reach a power source from where the crib is located.Once you have it set up with the app and everything it works well, but there is one issue to be aware of: when it looses power (say, a power outage or blip) it will turn back on until it syncs back to the WiFi and returns to the last setting. That is pretty irritating.
