My granddaughter is very happy with her gift.

I’ve read a lot of murder mystery books and this is hands down my favourite. This mystery is as good, if not better, than the first High Rise mystery. The main characters, Nik and Norva are brilliantly drawn, with very different personalities. The mystery is just complex enough to leave the reader guessing until near the end, but little clues (and red herrings) are peppered throughout the book. I would recommend to anyone 9+ with no upper age limit!

After reading the first book with my Year 6 class, I had high expectations for Mic Drop. It did not disappoint. Sharna keeps you guessing the entire way through. I read this (without my class due to lockdown) in 2 days, I just couldn't put it down. Nik and Norva are amazing characters; you feel like you really know them by the end. Perfect mystery series for Year 6.

My class are absolutely loving this - even more than the first I think! It’s a fantastically engaging story. My only concern is that there are grammatical errors and it feels like it’s not been proof read carefully. Luckily, we discuss them as a class but it does feel as though it was finished in a rush. This doesn’t take away from the story but is of course important when we are modelling story writing to little ones :-)

My 9 year old daughter absolutely loves this murder mystery and is re-reading it over and over. Contemporary and intriguing - it really speaks to her generation.
