Went to several hardware stores, they sold a few nice lights that are my taste and style, however the lights were either very small or way to large for my size home with attached garage. The set my husband and I did purchase were twice the cost but much smaller, we took them back because of the size. I checked Amazon only because we always hear our grown kids talk about the online store. We ordered the lights online, and happily amazed to find these lights, the size, quality, my husband had the 2 up on the garage in less than 1 hr. In the store these would sell for around twice as much. Very satisfied. The color is mostly a two toned bronze, you have to walk up to the lights to see any rust color. Very sharp, extremely happy...and yes you do have to take the top off to change the bulbs, however our led bulbs on the old lights that were replaced lasted for a couple years or longer, and we leave our lights on all night daily.😃

We needed to replace two carriage lights at the garage. One was extremely damaged and it was my fault and that's all I'm going to say.I really studied the different styles of lights and this one appealed to me. The only thing that made me hesitate, initially, was the rust color. But, I figured if I didn't like it, I would simply paint them. All of that was needless worry. The color is elegant. It looks like weathered rust met up with oil rubbed bronze. From a distance, they look like oil rubbed bronze. When you get close, it's a very subtle rust color, especially in the raised highlighted areas.These lights would look terrific with almost any style house. The seeded glass is also a lovely touch and I think more interesting than regular clear glass. The construction is solid, the over-all design is well-balanced and I think they'll last for a number of years. My husband said they were easy to install but he's very handy. Believe me, I'm going to be very careful not to do something stupid and wreck these.

Note that when I purchased it was on sale and therefore reasonable price. However, seeing it physically, the lantern feels so light and not as pretty . Let’s hope it lasts longer. Once installed and far enough, the look is fine but doesn’t seem to be aged bronze as advertised. It served the purpose to match the style of my heavy discontinued outdoor lanterns.

I had purchased a set about 6 years ago. I wanted to install the same design around my house. I checked several hardware stores and could not find them. I decided to check Amazon and my search was over. I really like the style, but you have to remove screws from the top to change the bulbs (but I switched to led bulbs and they last much longer) Now there are many outdoor lighting styles that has an opening at the bottom of the frame that you can reach into the lantern and change the bulb. May try them the next time

We have these lights in different sizes on many different locations on our home... we’d bought them originally at a big box store and needed a few extra for a free standing garage restoration. The one less star is because the price is a little steep compared to BB store but at least we were able to match to our existing lights (they were discontinued by original store)Note: Amazon is worth its weight in gold for being able to source items discontinued or difficult to find

Packaging wasn't perfect and I needed to make a few adjustments to units but to be expected and not a big deal. Very easy to assemble and great value.
