Excellent insight. Easy to follow and implement.
I liked this book because it clearly sets out the background on how our diet is limiting our life expectancy when we believe we may already be eating healthily. I'm 55, active ( since 21 in gym or restiance training with bands, a good blood profile, but I have always been boarder line diabetic) This book can give you ideas and a vision on how you can improve your weight and health in an intelligent way with reasoned arguments from wherever you may currently find yourself healthwise. I have already started to take action using Dr Ovadia's book as a starting point.

An eye opening read
This book is for anyone concerned about their health and looking to make long term sustainable changes. The information is presented well and easy to read. This book is not a “you must eat this, here is a 7 day plan”. The book is educational and guides you to make informed decisions about your health, and the food you consume. Highly recommended.

You know it makes sense!
Another loud voice with references, experience, skills to fix the world, but only if we listen, act and eat well.

great insight into a misunderstood area.
I had stumbled onto a low sugar, lower carb high protein food choices on my own. This book gave me some depth to why it had worked and some new ideas and optimisation. It really works. You feel healthier, have more energy and don’t feel hungry. Some things that sound to good to be true are not.

Interesting, but very much aimed at a US audience
It was an interesting read, although some areas of the book were quite US centric. Some of the subject matter felt a bit controversial - for example advocating a carnivorous diet as a possible way to manage the metabolism, whilst rationally explained felt a bit out there, and somewhat contradicted information I have read elsewhere. If you are trying to get a handle on pre- diabetes or hypertension it is definitely worth a read.

Everyone needs to learn about this information.
As a keen Low carb advocate for many years, I have learned about Insulin resistance and inflammation…this book simplifies a lot of the detail into easy to understand information, just look at the history of when humans started consuming sugar and industrial oil aka vegetable oils/ rapeseed etc, in relation to all the modern illnesses, cancer, diabetes etc, pre 1950, we didn’t see a lot of these conditions, whether you use this book or many of the other books available, we need to understand the connection between what we eat and how it can cause ill health.

Good basic information from a smart doctor about how to get metabolically healthy
I really liked this book: well-written, to-the-point information anyone can benefit from with suggestions anyone can follow, with absolutely no need to jump in off the deep end if it works better for you to go step-by-step. May not have some of the "star-power" that other books by other doctors talking about metabolic health rely on, but in my opinion that is all to the good.
