Smells great when ground but lacks taste
Based on the tasting notes in the description of this coffee, I was really looking forward to trying it, chocolate and cherry notes are absolutely my thing when it comes to coffee. The beans have an amazing aroma and the ground coffee smells great too but when I make coffee using my filter coffee maker, what comes out the other end has a very generic taste, I've tried drinking it black and without sugar and that's made no difference to me at all. It's a nice enough coffee but sadly nothing special. Perhaps stovetop or caffietiere might yeild different results but I won't be going out of my way to get it again, sadly.

Lovely, richly-flavoured single origin coffee beans.
The media could not be loaded. These single origin Guatemala coffee beans from Café Nero have a gorgeously rich aroma and flavour. The packet describes them as having notes of cherry and chocolate which I agree with. It makes a beautiful coffee in my bean-to-cup machine. Not quite as strong as our usual preference (Illy Classico) but with a really good depth of flavour. I love it as a double shot espresso to make a latte or cappuccino, but my husband says it’s not quite strong enough for his taste with lots of milk. He does however love it as an americano. The packaging is lovely and you get six x 250g packs which are in foil-lined brown paper, each with an individual freshness seal so that the beans are beautifully fresh on opening. There is a description of the source and growing conditions of the beans in Huehuetenango and the cooperative of growers that produce the beans in Guatemala. It certainly looks and tastes like a high-end product.I can’t comment on value for money as at the time of review, the price was not available, but we are very impressed with these coffee beans and if you want to treat yourself to something ‘interesting’ I would urge you to give these a try!
