Gamelyn Games Tiny Epic Kingdoms

Like a pocket sized Catan with War
I feel like I can carry a version of Catan around with me in my cargo shorts pocket, except it's a version in which I can war with others so it's pretty sweet. Plays well at all player counts but I avoid it at 2 players nonetheless--it's just not as fun because you can easily box someone into their home territory card if they don't expand and you do. Larger player counts make you watch multiple fronts for area control so this fixes the issues we've run into. Much prefer Galaxies at 2 players. Kingdoms feels a bit light even though it's fun, as warring is oftentimes not worth the cost. Apparently the Heroes Call expansion fixes this.

So much to like, just way too small.
Wow. Epic. A very beautifully conceived, wonderful to look at, simple yet tactful light tiny game that all fits inside a box smaller than my hand (including nicely designed tarot sized cards/boards on sturdy cardstock, 2 quality dice and a bunch of simple wooden game pieces). That said, it's hard not to wish they had made it all just a little bit bigger. But it is fun and intelligent and doesn't take to long...almost perfect! UPDATE: After playing this a few more times, I decided to remove a star. The tiny sized boards and character cards combined with their slick glossy finish makes this game, as good as it is, a bear to play. Game board map pieces slide around on the tabletop and the teeny tiny wooden pieces are difficult to hold and place. Just making the cards box-sized would've greatly improved playability and still kept it portable.

Fun, fast and easy to learn 4x game. Tiny and epic.
This game is one that, like others in the tiny epic series, is small but packs a good punch. I am biased towards the tiny epic series and this is no exception. I play solo and it has been a blast trying to outsmart fate as with the expansion solo is based on the roll of the dice and it can be brutal. You have a decent map and can even expand it is you so desire by adding another card as the lost real as one would do for a two player match. The adding of hero’s from the expansion, heroes call, add a new layer of strategy that can help you reach those victory points. Easy to learn and less than five minutes to set up with a gameplay lasting anywhere from 30 to 50 minutes. Is a nice 4x when one don’t have the time for something like civilization. Love it and recommend it.

Great game for two players
Fun, but some of the race cards need to be better balanced. (When I choose certain races, my son feels it is impossible to win.) There are many races to choose from, so you could easily avoid any you felt were over-powered. We were looking for a game that worked well for two players, and this certainly does.

I had previously loved tiny epic galaxies and wanted to try this out
I had previously loved tiny epic galaxies and wanted to try this out. It was different enough to be worth a separate game but similar enough to have the same addictive qualities

Order Without Worry: It IS Second Edition; The Box Has Just Changed
I'm editing this review with new information. I actually ended up reordering this directly from Gamelyn and the box also didn't have the little "2nd Edition" banner on it. So, I emailed the company directly and they said that after a transition period they stopped putting it on the box. What you're getting here is the second edition, the box will look the same as this one just without the little banner; this is just a slightly out of date picture.

Tiny epic kingdoms
Good game, have been following the tiny epic series form some time now and they are great games for a small box, love each game is unique and has it's own strategy

Really good fun to play, ideal if you love board games
This game is definitely a little "geeky" and I would say is best suited to the board gaming community rather than Joe public. The rules are a little complex to learn, but the game is fun and easy to play once you've got the hang of it. Me and my two children love to play it, they are 10 and 12. It's a challenging game and I'm not sure I've really got my head round the best tactics yet, my children seem to keep beating me lol. Games last about an hour, which is good for us as it's easy enough to find time to play and everyone can keep their attention for that long. It's small and easy to transport. It has a lot of very small pieces so you do have to be careful not to lose any and does need a table to play at. It is great fun to play once everyone knows the rules. It's also simple enough that you can initiate a new player quite easily as they can just play along with guidance from others who know how to play.
