Play Golf the Wright Way

The real way to golf
Lots of people write books about golf. Some of them really play well (Watson, Nicklaus, Hogan). Some of the very finest golfers omit one detail or another because it came so naturally to them. Sometimes they over-emphasize a quirk that is very helpful to them, but not universally valuable. The Wright book focuses with very great clarity on the pure swing. It is perfectly described, and she says how to build it in practice. The author never discusses ways to correct swing errors, but tells you how to build the swing from scratch so that it doesn't have the errors anyway. It requires a lot of practice, but it is the real way, the pure swing. It is a highest and best expression of golf as it is in and of itself. Perhaps golf zen or some other cool word. We get to the cool states by balanced, insightful practice, and that's what this book enables for you.

How to play top golf the ancient way
BEN HOGAN said that MICKEY WRIGHT had the best swing ever ,man or woman .When you see the videos of MICKEY WRIGHT swinging you understand why he said that .Her book details what to do to get the same swing .It's very different of what's taught today ;Her swing reminds what was taught by great ALEX MORRISON ,then by her teacher from SAN DIEGO ,HARRY PRESSLER ;The basis of her swing is getting to push very hard off a steady and active right leg ,with a very wide and low takeaway to get the widest arc possible for your clubhead .Her footwork is also very different trom to today's teaching Try this swing :you'll see immediately a great improvement in your game

Great book with awesome photos.
Two thumbs up. Considering this was originally written in the sixties, the information was wonderful. The pictures included were awesome. I have a large collection of golf instruction books. This is top notch. I loaned it to a buddy. She read parts twice and took notes. I have an 8 handicap and would recommend this book to anyone.

some of the finer points shared are here only
Much of what Ms. Wright teaches, in such concise and unambiguous language, has been expanded and complicated by others today and over the years. Still, some of the finer points shared are here only. Her putting technique, with a break in the wrists, has been replaced as the greens improved and the speed greatly amplified. Otherwise you can build a game with this fine book alone. She is and was greatly admired as a golfer and as a person and surely as a communicator and story teller as this tidy instruction piece demonstrates. Oh what golf could do today with another unassuming and brilliant Mickey Wright.
