Great for milk Blebs
I don't use this to pump milk but instead, I use the Haakaa breast pump to help with sore, tender nipples and milk blebs. I got my first milk bleb a month ago and it was extremely painful. I filled the Haakaa with warm water and put some epsom salt in there and soaked my nipple for 30 minutes. It helped to relieve the pain and also to speed up the process of getting rid of the milk bleb. When I have clogged ducts, I use the Haakaa to soak before pumping or breastfeeding and it helps a lot to loosen and unclog those painful ducts. I realize I'm not using the product as intended but hey, it works! So if you gift this to someone, let them know. Or are if you are a mom experiencing any of these problems, try it to soak and relieve.

Absolutely Essential for Breastfeeding!!
When a pregnant mom asks "what do I need", I always say if you plan to breastfeed, get a Haakaa!I have been using a Haakaa since the first week of my breastfeeding journey. I use it everytime I nurse on the opposite side. Once my supply regulated around 4 weeks in, I typically get 1.5-3 ounces each use and average 11-13 ounces a day when I'm at home nursing and not at work. Easiest. Ounces. Ever!!During my 12 week maternity leave I was able to get milk for 1-2 bottles a day for my husband to help out AND get 400+ ounces saved in my freezer!! Without having to use my pump! Now that my baby is sleeping longer at night, sometimes I will use the Haakaa to relief the pressure, which is so much more convenient at 3am to use a Haakaa for 5 minutes than pull my pump out, put it together, pump, clean-up, pack it back up for work, etc.I don't know where I would be in my BF journey without a Haakaa and I am SO grateful a friend of mine suggested it to me when I was pregnant.I actually have more than one Haakaa because it's just so convenient! I do prefer this one to my other one because this has a larger storage capacity and also seems to have a better suction due to its size. Also, I love the base, won't tip over! Super easy to use, clean, etc. Just buy it and good luck with your breastfeeding journey!

This is a breast pumping secret everyone should know about!!
I can’t believe my son is 6 weeks old and I just found it about this. I wish I would have had this when my milk first came in. I have a lot of milk and a pretty strong let down, but honestly I am so done cleaning my hand and electrical pumps. This Haakaa pump is amazing. My morning feeding I got 6.5 ounces (used on each side while nursing opposite) I have never gotten that much ever with my other pumps in one session. It was tricky to figure out (make sure you pull the cone inside out- look at YouTube for accurate videos). But once I had it on I was fairly confident my baby wouldn’t kick it off (and he didn’t) within 10 minutes it was half full. This thing is amazing. I also feel like it is applying even pressure around my breast and will help to avoid plugged ducts- don’t quote me, just my personal feelings.I don’t know why they don’t hand these out at the hospital. Cheap and SO EASY TO CLEAN! (Also it is safe to sterilize in the medela bags). I might even get a second one so I can do both sides at the same time when I return to work. This is seriously a breastfeeding secret I wish everyone knew about!!Note: I am an exclusive breast feeder and my pumped milk is for when I return to work in a few weeks. I don’t know if this would work for regular pumping sessions, but definitely is helpful for the big morning milk.

It’s all in the angle. LIFE CHANGING!!!
I never ever ever ever write amazon reviews, BUT i had to for this! I EBF my daughter, and hate the idea of a pump. I’ve used my spectra twice, and hate cleaning all the parts, and being stuck to an outlet. I’ve read a bunch of articles and seen the reviews for the haakaa, but was on the fence. Well I’m returning to work, and my daughter also loves to only drink one boob at night, leaving the other to turn into a cantaloupe, so I needed to start pumping.I finally buy the Haakaa and notice it is quite painful, my spectra wasn’t super comfy, but didn’t hurt this bad. I was so bummed, because I saw Chrissy Teigen using this, and all the reviews say it’s great. So I sterilize all my parts for my stupid spectra, and am nursing my daughter, and notice my other boob is leaking all over. I can’t use spectra cuz I’d have to unplug a hose to make it go back to pumping for one boob, so I try haakaa once more. It’s all in the ANGLE! I got it just right it didn’t hurt, and I got almost three ounces, which is what I normally get with spectra! This thing is so easy, almost too easy! Buy it and try it out a few times, you’ll be a convert just like me.

Works as a milk catcher
I bought this after family raved about it increasing their supply and not having to "pump" anymore. I have used it a few different time, different times of the day, and not consistently so maybe I haven't given it the best chance, but I have not seen any "miraculous" results from this. It sticks on my very well, is easy to clean, easy to pour, and easy to use in general and collects anything that lets down while I'm nursing, but doesn't necessarily replace pumping at all. I collect 1-2oz during a nursing session normally, but would have pumped about 4oz with my electric pump.It does hurt a little initially when sucking, but the pain relieves after a little, just like with pumping.I was debating going with this or just a milk catcher breast shell, so my MAIN purpose was to get the milk that was being wasted that let down while feeding one side, so I am not necessarily dissatisfied with the product, but I am disappointed that I didn't see the amazing results of these other ladies. I will continue to use this product, even if it's just to catch the let down.Note: I do not normally leak much.
